  1. Help me Obi-Wan you are my only hope. I am trying to and an embedded YouTube video into an email that I am sending out to clients. The issue I have is that when the video doesnt render (pretty much all email clients) I cannot get the background image to display. So far I have tried <iframe>, <object> and now I am trying <embed>. From what I understand Gmail doesnt support iframe or object tags, which has left me attempting to use embed. I am aware that YouTube videos will not appear in the majority of email clients, which is why I am trying to specify that a fall back image appears, currently it is just showing a blank space where the image should be! I have attached the code I have been using and would appreciate any help I can get! aza video.html

  4. ReactJS redirect

I am attempting to use a meta tag to redirect someone if they attempt to go to a specified number of pages. Problem is these pages are pdf files so I cant really add some code to that. Anyway I decided to use a javascript file and import React and ReactDOM from the JS Library. I simply don't know what I am doing wrong with this code though. If anyone could help that would be amazing! import React from 'react'; import ReactDOM from 'react-dom'; String[] Directory = {"A", "Bunch", "Of", "Website", "Directories", "Here"}; if (window.location.href = "Website name here" + Directory)) { ReactDOM.render( <META http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=Index.html">, document.getElementById('app') ); }; Much Appreciated to whoever can help!
  5. Local files

On my computer I've never been able to get an HTML file (opened locally on microsoft edge, not a server) to open any local files. These files are files such as .ogg, .mp3, .js, .css, and .xml. I'm sure I've written the directories correctly. Are there any other steps that I need to take?

  10. Troubleshooting help

The comment basically has my issue, but I'm basically trying to fix my second var prompt so it will actually run and I can't figure it out. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Line comment: var one above this comment isn't working, how do I fix it? I also need it to continue to the next else if statement once something is entered. I'm thinking of making it so that if it changes var input to 2 once it's entered then 3, will that work? <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>Project 1 – Michael Fiorello</title> <script> do{ var input = prompt ("Please enter 1, 2, 3, or exit.");{ if (input == "1") {for var one = prompt ("Please enter a string"); //var one above this comment isn't working, how do I fix it? I also need it to continue to the next else if statement once something is entered. I'm thinking of making it so that if it changes var input to 2 once it's entered then 3, will that work? if (one != null) else console.warn("You need to enter something") }in(one !="") //need the above "in" to cause it to loop this section until something is entered for var one else if (input == "2") { alert ("COOL!") } else if (input == "3") { alert ("AWESOME!") } else if (input.toLowerCase() == "exit") { alert ("Okay") } else { alert ("Nope") console.warn("You need to enter something"); } } }while(input != "exit"); </script> </head> <body> </body> </html>

  17. HTML forms help

Hi, I am still a rookie when it comes to HTML and would like to create a form that has a single input field. I would like it to show a password field but whatever you type in it would add the html file extension to it and take you to that page. Example, Say you type monkey then click submit. It would take you to monkey.html which is a webpage within my website. Please help... I keep trying stuff and I am getting more confused the more I try it. Thank you Jesse

  19. Help! HTML Calculation for PayPal

Hi there. I have been wandering around the tutorials and examples and trying to get a simple variable calculation done in the html code below but can't seem to get it right. The html code below works fine now to create a button for PayPal and submit an order. The problem is, I need the "amount_2" to actually be calculated to 2% of "amount_1". a simple, "amount_2" = "amount_1" * 0.02 This is to allow us to take payment with PayPal and add their merchant fees. 20. Email html

Hi Guys, I have a slight problem with some of my code. I have a series of tables running down a page with each table containing different data. All looks fine when I look at it as a HTML page but when I use it as an Email 2/3 elements move for some reason, is there a way I can make sure these elements won't move? The code is in the backend of a program I use and gets called as Emails are generated for different subjects. Thanks in advance, Craig.
  21. Javascript / html image help

I was wondering if there is a way to detect when a certain image is in a certain area on a page. I'm making a little game where you move a character around (which is an image), and when any part of the character is over a certain 100x200px area, it activates a function. Is this possible with JavaScript? If not, can I do it with another language that works with JavaScript and html? I'd prefer JavaScript. Thanks!

  23. desperately need CSS help!

Hello and I desperately need some help with CSS as I am really lost and have read that CSS tutorial I don't know how many times, but something just isn't clicking. I've got the HTML down and have written a web site in HTML in Microsoft notepad, but I need a style sheet to make things look better before I upload the site to a web host. What I need is someone that really knows the CSS code and can explain things in text and not graphics as I am blind and using a screen reader and it doesn't read graphics. I think I have the basic idea of what it is supposed to do and I have the code written down for all the parts like the coloring, the font things, the background and link/visited links and headers and such. What I need to know is how to put it all together, what do I write where in the "head" and the body" and in what order. Is there a way to tie all the pages together with basically the same style sheet or do I need to write the code on each page? I really need some help here and this seemed like the best place to ask, so I hope someone can. Also, what about the W3CSS, does that work better as I see some templates there to use, but I'm not exactly sure what it all means, again I have read and reread the tutorials on this. If I use one of the templates available, do I put that code inside my document or link to it as an outside source or exactly what? This reminds me of algebra when I had to do that in school as I needed help with that stuff. I really wish I had grown up with computers as it's much easier to learn this stuff when younger than older, but the HTML isn't hard and I thought CSS wouldn't be either. Help, please.
  24. Need Help With My Event Page

Hey guys/gals, I am a bit of a coding dinosaur, and recently got back into html coding, and have slowly been developing my comedy groups website. I've been slowly working with "css", and the list functionality On my event page, I want to display rows of 3 events each, that will have a rounded rectangle background, and the information about each event (with a picture) enclosed within the rectangle. You can find what I am working on at www.standupseoul.com/test1.html My problem is that I need to: 1. Align the 3 events to the middle of the page, not to the right. 2. I want there to be some separation between each <li> . As you can see, they bleed into each other. You should be able to view the source on my page. Any help, suggestions, or tips would be greatly appreciated. If you see some of my coding looks messy or I've put something in a bad spot, feel free to give me your opinion. In the end, I want it to look like I have on this page, but without using Tockify. http://www.standupseoul.com/pages/events.html I used to make pages back in the 90s and early 2000s with just HTML and a little java script, Im kind of getting back into all of this slowly. Thanks a lot!
  25. Hey could use some help

Hello, I am new to this site so bear with me please if I ask for help that may have already been addressed in other topics. I apologize. Ok I am new to this HTML thing and I am sure there are far better ways to code what I want done. I just have no idea how to do what I am about to ask. I am sorry I cannot offer any more information on my problem, if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. I know how to make a sidebar on the page. And I know how to make those options in the sidebar links. What I am confused on is how to make the link open up in the area next to the side bar. Just to make sure I am clear on my intentions with this question. I know how to make links open up in the same window as the link is clicked. Rather I want the links to open up within the same window and to the right of where the sidebar is. Perhaps its not links I should be using? If not please point me in the right direction. I appreciate it. Once again thank you.
