  1. Hello, I am currently building a website. I would like to have a page preview for the internal links. But I have no idea how that works. I imagine that as the page preview of Wikipedia. If you move the mouse over a link, the image and the first words of the site are displayed in a tooltip. Here is a link https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Page_Previews Does anyone have an idea how to realize this? Have googled a lot and found nothing. Many Thanks

  4. As i know local links are used to navigate between documents of a same website, but when i create a local link to a website ,it says File not found. What does it mean?
  5. I'm making a <table> of politicians. <th colspan="2">Name</th> <td><img></td> <td>List of Committes They Belong To <ul> <li>Budget</li> <!- These will -> <li>Finance</li> <!- be links -> </ul> </td> Something like that. Now, I want to make each committee name link to something that may change at some point - maybe, to start, it links to the Wiki about that committee, and maybe later I decide I'd rather link to the ".gov" instead. I'd like to avoid having to change every link in the HTML to do this. Is it possible to somehow use classes in the HTML and put the actual links in the CSS so I can make one change there to change all the instances of each link in the HTML? Did I explain that well enough?
  6. Hey so I am creating just a fun program where you can mix and match different tops, pants, and shoes. When you click an arrow button it changes the top, pants, or shoes. My code is not work. 7. Hi all I'm fairly new to html so bare with me... I have several restaurant websites, adapted from a template. I'll use this one as an example: http://feastaway.com/basic/ You'll see there is a navigation bar, with links to 'Welcome', 'Contact Us', 'Opening Times' and 'View Menu'. The first three are internal links to that section of the page and work like a dream. The fourth one, 'View Menu', is an external link which is supposed to open up a new tab, but when you click it all that happens is it becomes highlighted. It doesn't open the new tab or indeed the link in the existing tab. However, right-clicking and choosing 'open link in new tab' does the trick, so it obviously knows the link is there. Source code: </header> <nav id="navigation"> <div class="nav-container"> <ul> <li><a class="active" href="#welcome">Welcome</a></li> <li><a href="#contact">Contact <span class="extrabold">Us</span></a></li> <li><a href="#times">Opening <span class="extrabold">Times</span></a></li> <li><a href="http://feastaway.com/Campaigns/redir.php?ID=182" target="_blank">View <span class="extrabold">Menu</span></a></li> </ul> </div><!-- end .nav-container --> </nav> Any ideas!? Many thanks Graham
  8. I have a website I created by using WIX. I am trying to Create a Form for First Name, Last Name and E-mail address that I would like to Pass the First Name, Last Name and E-mail on to a URL: The URL http://www.mb103.com/lnk.asp?o=6189&c=71590&a=120164&s1=fname&s2=lname&s3=emaill/ The S1, S2 & S3 are sub ID fields. 11. My navigation's drop down menu just quite working. I'm not sure what the problem is. The coding is all there and looks fine, so does the CSS. I don't see anything that should be effecting it. Help? You can see the design here: http://sugar-baby.org/The navigation SHOULD drop down like this: http://i43.tinypic.com/1zodpbb.jpg
  12. I was studying this "You try it" on the W3 site:http://www.w3schools.com/css/tryit.asp?filename=trycss_linka:link {color:#FF0000;} /* unvisited link */a:visited {color:#00FF00;} /* visited link */a:hover {color:#FF00FF;} /* mouse over link */a:active {color:#0000FF;} /* selected link */and used the code in a page of mine.But my page always opened with the link colored green, as if the link had already been visited; whereas the sample shows its initial state as red, or unvisited, as the code comment indicates it should be.Curious, I changed the destination in the sample from "default.asp" to "http://www.google.com/" Then the unvisited, initial state of the link was green like mine, not red.I downloaded the code and replicated the sample on my website, with the same results when the destination was changed.Please advise.Thanks
  13. Hi Can someone point me in the direction of a tutor so I can learn how to remove or hide things using css. I'm running a wordpress woocommerce store and need to add css in a plug-in box that will remove or hide items. If I have to I can find the css sheet for the plug-in and work from there. I know how to build a basic css sheet to make my own pages but never tried to remove anything using css. Any help of where I can find a good tutor would be much appreciated.Kimberly
  14. I have anchor links on icons for social media at the top of my page. As far as I can tell, the links and anchors are coded correctly.But for some reason, I can't get the icons to be clickable.The website is www.cleantelligent.comHere's the code for the icons themselves: <!--SOCIAL LINKS--><style>#UpperLinks{ position: absolute; left: 50%; margin-left: 380px; white-space: nowrap; padding-top: 27px;}#UpperLinks img{ width:auto;}#PhoneTop{ font-family: 'News Cycle', sans-serif; color:#D1D1D1; position: absolute; left: 50%; margin-left: 345px; white-space: nowrap; margin-top: -12px;}</style><div id="PhoneTop"><img style="position:relative; top: 8px;" src="/wp-content/themes/cleantelligent/images/phonetrans.png" />(801) 375-0375</div><div id="UpperLinks"><a href="http://www.linkedin.com/company/cleantelligent_software" target="_blank" ><img height="22" width="22" src="/wp-content/themes/cleantelligent/images/linkedin.png" /></a><a href="https://twitter.com/#!/CleanTelligent1" target="_blank" ><img height="22" width="22" src="/wp-content/themes/cleantelligent/images/twitter.png" /></a><a href="http://www.facebook.com/CleanTelligent" target="_blank" ><img height="22" width="22" src="/wp-content/themes/cleantelligent/images/facebook.png" /></a><a href="https://www.youtube.com/CTsoftware" target="_blank" ><img class="socialicons" height="22" width="22" src="/wp-content/themes/cleantelligent/images/YouTubePlay.png" /></a></div><!--END OF SOCIAL LINKS-->
  15. I'm using a ZooEffect Gallery, which is great-except for two things; A) The images do not read links-despite them being a gallery option. You can't seem to change the font within the gallery-I tried being adjusting the CSS-to no avail, I put it back and then after a few days, ZooEffect got back to me with a solution, Which also didn't work. Most people seem to be able to pinpoint these issues using Safari Developer or FireBug. Can anybody pinpoint for me or at least tell me how I would do this? ThanksLauren
  16. Hi all! I have a problem I can't figure out at all. In the image provided below, (you can also check http://www.simuscape...utalk/index.php), I have some imagelinks, (marked in red), located below the header and above the gold/beige background. But only the top of those imagelinks are visible, rather than being positioned in the middle of that dark background, approx. 17 px up from their current positioning. However, no matter how I try to change what's in the stylesheet, it also affects the Simuscape Index and Logout navigations, (marked in blue). What am I doing wrong and what do I need to do? Codes in stylesheet; /* Navigation--------------------- */ #menu { padding: 8px 0 0 1px; overflow: hidden;} #nav { padding: 0; margin: 0 auto; list-style-type: none; float: left; position: relative; left: 50%;} #nav li { float:left; position:relative; right:50%; } #nav a { display: block; width: 24px; height: 19px; margin: 0 0px 0 0px; Edit to add 1// Made another change in the stylesheet for each imagelink; Code from; .home { background: url("{T_IMAGESET_LANG_PATH}/home.png") 0 0 no-repeat; to; .home { background: url("{T_IMAGESET_LANG_PATH}/home.png") 0 -18px no-repeat; The result; The images were placed more accurate, but parts of the top is cut off and the hover images are in the wrong position... Edit to add 2// Okey, by reducing the transparent area between the home.png and the hover effect on the same .png, I have managade to allign them. The only actual problem at the moment is that these image links are cut off on the top... How to address this issue?
  17. I have put a few amazon banner links on my website, but I am noticing that they are not clickable when viewing on a smart phone. I am assuming this is because they are wrapped in an Iframe.Is there a way to make this work on mobile devices? I am thinking I could try wrapping the iframe in an <a> tag that points to the same page but with its own link. So the banner link will show like a picture, but it wont be the actual link. Would this work? And would it affect the banner link itself when clicked on in a normal browser. <iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=jonsonliport-20&o=1&p=12&l=ur1&category=software&banner=0BSSVHTA3XB4Y210FD82&f=ifr" width="100%" height="250" scrolling="no" border="0" marginwidth="0" style="border:none;" frameborder="0"></iframe>
  18. Can someone please give me some example code so I can link a webpage to another using javascript? This is my code at the moment:- document.onkeydown = function(e) { e = e || window.event; // because of Internet Explorer k = e.which || e.charCode || e.keyCode; // because of browser differences... if (k == 49 && !e.altKey && !e.ctrlKey && !e.shiftKey) { string.link(link.html) } else { return true; } return false; } This won't link me to the other link when "1" on the keyboard is pressed... Please Help!
  19. Hi, I'd like some help please. I'm trying to create a pagination that will display the links of the pages like this:<a href="#">First Page</a><a href="#">Previous Page</a><a href="#">Next Page</a><a href="#">Last Page</a>Not showing numbers Here's my code so far: <?php$per_page = 20;$page = (isset($_GET['page']) === true) ? (int)$_GET['page'] : 0;$start = $page * $per_page; $query = "SELECT `users`.`user_id` AS `id`, `users`.`first_name` AS `firstname` , `users`.`last_name` AS `lastname`, `users`.`email` AS `email`, FROM `users` ORDER BY `users`.`user_id` DESC"; $query_limit = sprintf("%s LIMIT %d, %d", $query, $start, $per_page);$sql = mysqli_query($connection, $query_limit) or die(mysqli_error());$row_sql = mysqli_fetch_assoc($sql); $all = mysqli_query($connection, $query);$total_rows = mysqli_num_rows($all); $total_pages = ceil($total_rows/$per_page)-1;//$previous_page = ($page > 0) ? $page - 1 : 0;//$next_page = $page + 1;?><html>....<?php do { ?><td><?php echo $row_sql['firstname']; ?></td><td><?php echo $row_sql['lastname']; ?></td><td><?php echo $row_sql['email']; ?></td><?php } while ($row_sql = mysqli_fetch_assoc($sql)); ?>...<!--- pagination links go here ---> Is it also possible to put it and inside a function where I can pass the $query and the $per_page so that I can re-use it???
  20. Hello, At my website, I am trying to design a record of the articles I read similar to Richard Stallman's Political Notes or, Dave Winer's more complicated linkblog. Browsing Stallman's html, I understand that each note has an anchor that organizes it by date. Then, I'm not totally sure how, the notes are sort of cross posted to date-specific pages available from the links at the top of the page. In Stallman's markup, there's a comment indicating a line needed for scripts, which leads me to believe that Stallman uses some kind of script to quickly organize each note into the date-specific pages. Without having to create a script, is there some way I can organize my links into category-specific pages with them also appearing on the main notes subdomain? If I do need to use a script, does anyone know of something basic I can use to do what I need? Thanks for any and all help. Let me know if this needs to be clarified. Take care, Gabriel

  23. Hi I'm just learning CSS/HTML (self-taught) and am curious about the process required to achieve something like the image that can be seen on this blog page: http://theletteredcottage.net/our-house/ Any advice/info, and in particular some example code, would be fantastic. As stated, I'm only a newbie so simple explanations with limited jargon much appreciated :-) Thanks so much!
