  1. Dear all, Since bootstrap has container and container-fluid classes, does a heavy lifting, and is easy to use, I am inclined to think that css's media query has no advantage. I'd appreciate sharing any opposite opinion that sees usefulness/advantage in media queries.
  2. Hello, I have created a responsive html but at its max i want to limit it to three columns. How do it do that?
  3. I wrote media queries which until recently worked - the images are still resizing but for some reason the text has stopped resizing when I make the window smaller. I don't know what I might have done to render them non-functionable. Can anyone spot what it might be? Thank you very much. <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/font-awesome/4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css"> <script src="https://use.typekit.net/qkv6kzb.js"></script> <script>try{Typekit.load({ async: true });}catch(e){}</script> <script src="https://use.typekit.net/qkv6kzb.js"></script> <script>try{Typekit.load({ async: true });}catch(e){}</script> <meta charset="UTF-8"> <title>Barton's wall cuts</title> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"> <!--[if lt IE 9]> <script src="http://html5shiv.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js"></script> <![endif]--> <style> /* http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/css/reset/ v2.0 | 20110126 License: none (public domain) */ html, body, div, span, applet, object, iframe, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, p, blockquote, pre, a, abbr, acronym, address, big, cite, code, del, dfn, em, img, ins, kbd, q, s, samp, small, strike, strong, sub, sup, tt, var, b, u, i, center, dl, dt, dd, ol, ul, li, fieldset, form, label, legend, table, caption, tbody, tfoot, thead, tr, th, td, article, aside, canvas, details, embed, figure, figcaption, footer, header, hgroup, menu, nav, output, ruby, section, summary, time, mark, audio, video { margin: 0; 5. I have designed a website in asp.net & make compatible with 1024*768 resolution by using css media queries. following css media query i have used @media only screenand (min-width : 1000px) and (max-width:1024px){#div1{ width:1012px; height:460px; }#GridView2{ width:1012px; height:460px; } } at first, i have tested my website on IE8 on my own monitor screen (19 inch monitor), everything works fine for me but when i have tested same website on littile bigger screen (21 inch monitor) with 1024*768 resolution & IE8 browser, gridview felt shorter in height when i run website. i don't understand why this is happening though i have run website both times on same resolution (1024*768) but different size of screen. suggest any solution to tackle this problem.

    Media Queries

In my CSS script I have p { display:none; margin-left:20px; } /**** Use only when screen is 480 or less*/@media only screen and (max-width: 480px), only screen and (max-device-width: 480px) { #line { width: 96%; height:60px; border:#2ABF00 thick solid; } #line p { display:block; }}/**** Use for container width greater than 900*/@media only screen and (min-width:900px), only screen and (min-device-width:900px){ #letsc { width:96%; height:60px; border:#FF0055 thick double; } #letsc p { display:block; }} And my HTML <body><div id="letsc"><p>content > 900</p></div><div id="line"><p>max-width: 480px</p></div></body> What I expect to see is the div containing content for > 900px only appearing when my screen area is greater than 900 pixels. The div for max-device-width 480px works as I expect. That is, the div and it's content only appears when the window is shrunk down below 480 Pixels. But I also expect to see the top div and content dissapear when the browser window is opened to greater than 900px. I am just trying to get a handel on how media queries work. There are many examples on the net, but they brought me to my present problem. The whole HTML file is attached. exp.html
