1. Hey folks, I have created a picture that shows my problems with Responsive Design. When I make the window smaller or switch to a smartphone, the Responsive Design should make it look good, no matter what resolution the display has. I'm not a pro in HTML5 or CSS3, especially not when it comes to Responsive Design, so I still don't understand some things correctly. #01: For example, I don't understand why the box with the lamp or the complete headline with subtext and symbolic line under it disappears completely as soon as the website switches to mobile. (Highlights – das gibt es bei uns) #02: Or why the distances to the individual boxes in the mobile design are so gigantic. #03: In mobile design, the W-Lan Icon Box and the text are below each other, but the distance is too big, and the text is no longer centered horizontally. I've been busy with this for a few days now and don't know what to do anymore. I've used a commercial Template to do this: Canvas | The Multi-Purpose HTML5 Template https://themeforest.net/item/canvas-the-multipurpose-html5-template/9228123?s_rank=1 This is the HTML Code of this section

Die moderne Kommunikation ist simpel.
Da das Internet schon ohnehin zu unserem täglichen Leben gehört, lässt sich die Nutzung der telba Cloud sehr einfach gestalten.

So funktioniert's:

Ihre Cloud Lösung wird individuell nach Ihren Wünschen angepasst. 2. BACKGROUND: Within two weeks of my iMac hard disk failure I also lost my iPhone due to a failed power socket. People simply do not service what Apple calls "obsolete" equipment. Although I have yet to replace my iMac, one of my colleagues had an iPhone 5 that he was no longer using and gave it to me. With his new phone in hand I went straight to the Grammar Captive website only to discover that what worked well in a device simulator does not work well at all in the real-life device. Now, my website is divided into five parts: a banner, a navigation bar, the main content section, a side bar with RSS feeds, and a footer. When the viewport is small, the aforementioned divisions are supposed to build a five tier column: banner, navigation bar, main content, side-bar, and footer. If you own an iPhone 5 compare the results for podcast_hostpage.php and with those of overview.html and see the difference. The former displays correctly, the latter does not. QUESTION: What must I do to restore the five-tier nature of overview.html? Roddy
 3. I have noticed that using the @media screen tag behaves differently with the direction in which the window or viewport is resized. Intuitively, one would expect that widening the window or viewport would undo whatever occurred when the window was narrowed. This is not, how it works, however. Is there a general rule of thumb to implement directionally symmetric changes? Roddy
 4. I am creating a web page layout using bootstrap and the backend is PHP Laravel, the web page is partitioned into various divs which work fine on various screen devices but when I upload the project on a live server and view the page on mobile part of the service and contact section is hidden behind a white background, I find it hard to figure out to debug the CSS code to make the two sections visible in mobile,,,please assist? 5. Hello! I'm trying to create a responsive thumbnail gallery where all the images in the same row are equal in height. The proportions vary - some images are portrait, some landscape. I want them to scale themselves to equal height. But the rows won't have to be the same height - only the images on the same row. My code for one thumbnail row is basically (within a container with a set max-width):

Img1 is landscape, img2 and img3 are portrait - in the thumbnail gallery img1 appears taller in height than the others, why? The actual image files are all 900 px in height (width is different). Is there a way to force the thumbnails on the same row to be the same height? Can this be done without resizing the actual images? And can the gallery still be responsive? Thank you!
 6. I have a responsive drop-down navigation bar that is responsive to screens of all width. The navigation bar has a hidden menu icon that displays when the screen width is below 480 px. When the button is clicked the drop-down lists appear. The problem is that am not able to make the navigation scale to the full-width of the mobile screen and also the drop-down lists appear as a block in tandem to the navigation bar. index.html

 Menu

Home

 Humanities ▼

 Music

 Linguistics

 Penology

 Anthropology

 Sociology ⟩

Psychology

Counselling

C.M.D

 Education ▼

 E.C.D.E

 Science

 Arts with Edu

Swahili

Psychology

Sociology of Ed.

Liberal Ed.

 Engineering ▼

 Electrical

 Civil & Structural

 Aeronautical

 Chemical

<a href="#"rel="nofollow" > Mechanical

Industrial

Automotive

 Contact Us

style.css /*Styles the background-color of an active link*/ .menu ul .active{ color: #ffffff; background: #red; /* For browsers that do not support gradients */ background: -webkit-linear-gradient(red 20%, green); /* For Safari 5.1 to 6.0 */ background: -o-linear-gradient(red 20%, green); /* For Opera 11.1 to 12.0 */ background: -moz-linear-gradient(red 20%, green); /* For Firefox 3.6 to 15 */ background: linear-gradient(red 20%, green); /* Standard syntax */ background: linear-gradient(red 20%, green); /* Standard syntax */ } .navbar{ width:100%; max-width:1000px; text-align:center; margin-top:-8px; margin-bottom:60px; margin-left:160px; } .menu ul{ /*Removes bullets*/ list-style:none; } /*Styles each list within ul*/ .menu ul li{ background-color:green; border:1px solid #ffffff; width:100%; max-width:173px; height:35px; line-height:35px; margin:auto; text-align:center; /*Makes the list dispaly in a horizontal maneer*/ float:left; position: relative; border-radius:8px; font: 15px; font-weight:regular; } .menu ul li a{ text-decoration:none; color:white; display:block; } .menu ul li a:hover{ background-color:red; border-radius:8px; } .menu ul ul{ position:absolute; margin-left:-40px; display:none; } .menu ul li:hover >ul{ display:block; } .menu ul ul ul{ width:100%; margin-left:134px; top:0px; } /*Display the drop-down on hover*/ /*+ selecctor styles every element that are placed immediately after another element */ .menu ul li a:hover + .menu ul li ul, .menu ul li ul:hover{ display:block; } /*Hide Checkbox*/ input[type=checkbox]{ display:none; } /*Show menu when invisible checkbox is checked*/ /*We select checkbox and then use selector column checked to make sure that the checkbox is checked*/ /*~ selects everything that is beneath element on the left shoul be styled with CSS style within the curly bracket*/ input[type=checkbox]:checked ~ .list{ display:block; } /*Styles the menu-label according to its class*/ .show-menu{ font-family:"Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial,sans-serif; text-decoration:none; color:#fff; background: #19c589; text-align:center; padding:10px 0; display:none; } /*Responsive styles*/ @media screen and (max-width:480px){ /*Make drop-down links appear inline*/ .menu ul{ position:static; display: none; } .navbar{ margin-top:-15px; margin-left:5px; } #show-menu:checked ~ .navbar .menu ul { display: block; } /*Create vertical spacing*/ .menu ul li{ margin-bottom:1px; } /*Make all menu links full width*/ .menu ul li, .menu li a{ width:100%; } .show-menu{ display:block; } body{ background-image:none; } }
 7. Hi! I modified the wordpress slideshow to make it much nicer looking and added text below, however, I am having a horrible time with the responsive aspect of it...the location of the control buttons (to move the show forward and backwards), as well as the simple text block below the slides move an enormous amount depending on the screen size! Is there anything I can do to make the location of these elements dependent on each other so that they re-locate accordingly? Otherwise, no one is going to be able to view the slides! The page I am talking about can be found here: http://annascherman.com/made-in-birmingham/
 8. I know i can use display:none, but the page has a lot of pics. The mobile page has less content and few pics. To load quicker and waste less bandwith i want to pics not to load on a mobile phone. How can I do that?
 9. Hello everyone, let's see if anyone can help me out. I'm creating a page with squares and rectangles div (windows 8 style) spaced from each other 4px. Each div has a title or a mini sentence. I would like: 1 - going with the mouse over the div, it shrinks slightly and changes color, all with a transition;2 - clicking on one div, this one must increase in the vertical and horizontal size because I need that, into the div will appear text boxes where you can enter data which will return a value;3 - when the div size increases, others div should always move in an orderly manner4 - clicking on another div, the first (or earlier) should return little if possible. I don't know if I have explained myself well enough. The site has responsive desgin for pc, tablets and smartphones. I would like this javascript runs on safari, Internet Explorer, crome and firefox. I hope someone can help me out ... Thanks in advance. Andrea
