Find your web directory, such as c:\inetpub, and make sure the IIS user has permission to access it. You can right-click on the directory and select Security, or Properties and then the Security tab, and make sure the user that starts with "IUSR_" has at least read access to the folders. It needs to have access to the inetpub folders and all folders underneath. Also, in IIS you can right-click on your web site and select Properties, and there should be a Directory Security tab where you can say if people need to authenticate to use the web site.

Cheers for responding. Ive installed ISS on my laptop as I am learning how to use formsWhen I browse http://localhost/MyWeb/test1.asp, I am getting this back... (I've tried everything I can find suggested but still no joy)Server Error in Application "Default Web Site"--------------------------------------------------------------------------------HTTP Error 404.4 - Not FoundDescription: The resource you are looking for does not have a handler associated with it. Error Code: 0x80070002 Notification: MapRequestHandler Module: IIS Web Core Requested URL: http://localhost:80/MyWeb/test1.asp Physical Path: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\MyWeb\test1.asp Logon User: Anonymous Logon Method: Anonymous Handler: Not yet determined Most likely causes: The file extension for the requested URL does not have a handler configured to process the request on the Web server. What you can try: If the file extension does not have a handler associated with it, add a handler mapping for the extension. Verify that the handler associated with the file extension is properly installed and configured. Create a tracing rule to track failed requests for this HTTP status code. For more information about creating a tracing rule for failed requests, click here. More Information... This error means that the Web server does not recognize the file extension of the requested resource. A module handler is not configured on the Web server for this extension. If the file extension being denied is required by the Web server, add the appropriate handler for the file extension.
