What Is .net?

.NET is a framework that can be used to program applications on Windows.Note: ASP technically isn't programming language either.
Firstly, thanks you about your reference.Secondly, I didn't understand two things as following:1) If .NET is a framework for programming on windows, so what is its relationship to the web programming section, it is just more programming language like VisualBasic, C, C++, C# etc. ?? isn't??2) So what is really ASP if you say that it is not a programming language?Hope to your response soon!!

1) .NET has a web variant called ASP.NET, with web-related libraries. Learning how to use these libraries will allow you to effectively create websites in the various .NET languages, such as VB, C++, and C#.2) A server-side scripting engine. Think of it like CGI.
