atar.yosef
Hello there!! Just wanted to ask please what's the difference between those two concepts: URL and URI. Thanks in advance!! atar.
ShadowMage
http://en.wikipedia....urce_IdentifierSeems URI is a broader term which includes URLs and URNs:One can classify URIs as locators (URLs), or as names (URNs), or as both. A Uniform Resource Name (URN) functions like a person's name, while a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) resembles that person's street address. In other words: the URN defines an item's identity, while the URL provides a method for finding it. Though, URI and URL are often used interchangeably to refer to a web address or file path. Ingolme
I've never seen much use for a URN. I think I've seen some Microsoft resources use them, but that's it.
