alienA2
Hi I am so tired of Microsoft Windows...Pissed off actually. So much problems I hate it. I want freeware. I wanna go 100 percent freeware now. What is the best freeware OS to go with at the moment for Programmers and web designers on PC (not Mac). Thanks
TheGallery
I guess you could try Ubuntu ( http://www.ubuntu.com/ ) or another Linux distribution. I am not really an expert in operating systems but i think Ubuntu is the most commonly used (from those who want something like you).
thescientist
Ubuntu is pretty good, I don't use it, although I have it installed as one of my VM's. One of co-workers uses it as his main OS and seems to do professional programming alright.
trinistorm
You can burn and test ubuntu without installing it here: http://www.ubuntu.co...ubuntu/download. The fedora project also has a disk focused on designer work, they call them spins:http://spins.fedoraproject.org/design/ The benefits of open source are the choice and flexibility. You don't have to feel like your locked down to a single vendor.
