IMAGES: How to make background clear?

Working on a page and want to insert some downloaded images. On the webpage I got them from they blended into chosen background - I'd like to do same on my page, but they are coming up with the white block. Tried getting around it in MS Paint w/o success. Not quite sure what you mean, but do you want a transparent background on the image? That way, the white won't be there and you'll be able to see the fall leaves behind it.You can only do that with images that are in the .gif format (which appear to be the type you've used). I don't think you can do it in MSPaint though.with regards

Yeah, transparent. I was told that you could in Paint - guess not. If you can't make it transparent there then where and how?

there's a lot of appz to do solike adobe photoshop...but if you want a simple solution, try irfanview (www.irfanview.com): save an image with .gif extension, and in the dialog you'll have the option to select a color to be the transprent onegood luck!
