Im new at HTML/CSS was wondering if anyone could help

Hello I'm currently trying to become a better web designer, I have done some basic html/css lessons on codeacademy and I know most of the tags. The biggest problem I'm having right now that It's very hard for me to apply my skills that I have learned to an actual web page does anyone have any tips on how to apply my skills that I have learned through these sites better?

Start with code that's simple and personally meaningful to you. Then, start adding functionality. If the purpose of your code has enough meaning, you'll stick with it. Guaranteed.

 

Purpose is at the center of everything. The biggest question is always, how many should care and ultimately will care about your code.

 

There's nothing wrong with self interest as long as it's not your only interest. So, make sure there's enough benefit left for your users after you get what you need.
