patria
Greeting to everyone, Hope you are all having a good day Let me tell you little bit about myself, I worked for an IT - Support group and my job was only involved in fixing production issues. It was a very cool job, but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to learn new technologies or update myself in other tech areas, Nevertheless, I'm learning HTML 5 with the help of HTML 5 - The Missing Manual (Second Edition) book by Mathew MacDonald. so far, I'm glad that I am able to follow the book and also learning from the great website W3Schools. . Now, my question is after learning HTML 5 will I be able to get at least an Entry-level Job? Or do I have to learn some other technologies? can any one here guide me what are the best options? And also, what HTML editor do you all use for learning? Apprentice your help Thanks, Patria
justsomeguy
Now, my question is after learning HTML 5 will I be able to get at least an Entry-level Job? Or do I have to learn some other technologies?I doubt you'll be able to find any job that only requires HTML. Most web development jobs require some knowledge of Javascript and CSS at a minimum. You'll probably spend a lot more time writing Javascript code than writing HTML.
patria
Justsomeguy... Thanks for your input. yes, I understand with out JavaScript and CSS no web developer can build web Apps. The book that I mentioned above for learning HTML5 also includes CSS & JavaScript for developing dynamic Apps. I'm still in the beginning chapters. I don't have any knowledge in JavaScript and wondering how can I learn for a beginner like me what do you suggest? Appreciate your help! Thanks, Patria
justsomeguy
The book should be a fine introduction, if you want to go deeper than that then are several Javascript-only books that you can go through. I would suggest going to oreilly.com and seeing what they have there.
