Creating A Converter (GIF IMAGE bo BASE64)

Hi All, I'm a newbie programmer and I want to create a form that accepts an image (<input type = "file" name = "img1"/>) file and pass it on to another file written into base64 format. I'm having problem figuring it out because there are a lot of online encoders but they somehow manage to hide their "codes" or encrypt it. I wrote down a code which converts a string into base64. And in that case, I should convert an image to a string but don't know how. To use images from the client's computer, you're going to have to use a server-side language. Their code is "hidden" because it's running on the server and server-side code doesn't ever appear on the client. You can use PHP's base64_encode() function
