  1. ankur218, Thanks for the post but after a day of frustration i managed to work around the problem and achieve something alternative that still works with what i was going for. Thanks again!
  2. Hi guys, i've been on here a couple of times and had some great help so i'm back again to see if anyone can assist again. I'm working on a final assessment piece for my semester and am really struggling to get my head back around the code after a few weeks break. I'm feeling terribly rusty. My plan is to execute a site that displays a manila folder with coloured tabs as the page titles/navigation bar. I've created the images in Illustrator and am struggling how to actually get them into the CSS in a way that works. I realise that it will probably involve layering using z-index etc. I think... This is the image i'm working with, and i also have it separate files/layers. There will be 7 pages to the site, one for each section of the unit i'm taking. The active page will have the tab raised to protrude the other tabs in height and the active page will also have that colour brought to the top using the z-index. thanks
  3. now if i have thumbnail images on the page that link to the larger sized images... how would you suggest i go about stopping the hover behaviour on that? right now i've removed the links from this html page because it was frustrating me... but i'd really like to have the 6 images as live links to the enlarged images. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks liquid.css country.html
  4. Thanks Foxy mod! worked a treat... I didn't click that i could have .footer a:hover together before the { etc }.
  5. Hi Guys, this is my first post to the forum and i'm studying xhtml and css at university. Just written some css code for a site and want to overrite the a:hover background color for the footer only. As i've placed the css and html validation images in the footer, and when i hover, they activate the a:hover background color. It's probably a difficult thing to change, but am having trouble finding the way to do it. Thanks,
