  1. That's what I thought. Very common problem though. There are lots of UNIX search and replace mechanisms but they are not easy to use and sometimes can have undesirable results. URL rewrite looks like the cure is worse than the disease. I have just realized that the directory structure of the site needs to be revised. This must happen very often. Can I modestly suggest that a new HTML feature is needed which doesn't look that hard to create. Thanks for your help guys (or should I say guy and "Not Telling but probably female".
  2. It occurs from time to time that a website url reference that is used site wide changes. For example if the site starts using php then index.htm has to change to index.php. Is there a way of creating site wide html variables for this purpose to save searching for and editing many references on the site.
