  1. Just curious if anyone if able to offer some help?
  2. OK, I was using an image rotator created with JQuery. However, recently I began trying to change it up to where it would display a certain image between 7-8p, 8-9p, 9-10p. The more I tried, the less it worked. I decided to try with just javascript. Well, so far I created some variables to display some test images at certain times....but it's not working...and I'm not sure why. On top of that, I'm not sure how to make the images rotate. I know I'll use a else statement, but besides that, I'm totally lost. Any help? Here's a link. http://tinyurl.com/blwlhk6

    A Few Css Issues

    OK, i'm having a few small issues with my CSS. First off, I have an image rotator on the homepage. I have an overlay that displays some text, but for some reason, it's supposed to be positioned over the bottom of the graphic (not below it) but instead, it's in the middle. Now, I use HTML Kit which and in preview mode, it shows it's positioned correctly (I think the preview is IE7). So how would I fix it to where it displays correctly in the current versions of IE, Firefox and Chrome? Also, when you select "About" on the nav bar, it pushes the page content down...which is what I want. But when it does, it also pushes the rotator down the page, but the overlay stays put. Is there a way to get the overlay to move down with the graphic? And finally, there is a little but of white space below the footer. How would I remove that? http://tinyurl.com/67w4epj thanks
  4. I'm building a site in wordpress (for the first time) and I'm having trouble with my sub nav bar. About is the only section that has a "sub menu." Currently, after "About" there is a large amount of space between "Support." The problem is with the sub menu. Right underneath the menu where all the space is, if you place the mouse just beneath it, the submenu links show up one by one. How can I change my css to prevent this from happening? Thanks.Link
  5. OK, so I'm trying to javascript. Hopefully, I'll get it, but we'll see.Anyway, I have a question (simple I hope).I going through the W3schools training and I'm on the section about comments. It says that you can add comments to a block of code to prevent it from executing. It says it's suitable for debugging.My question is why would you do this? Wouldn't it be better to just delete it?Thanks
  6. Hello,I'm trying to automatically close a lightbox that I have on my home page. With some help, I used the setTimer. However, it still doesn't close automatically. Any idea what's wrong? Thanks. <script type="text/javascript" src="/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/jquery.mousewheel-3.0.4.pack.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.fancybox-1.3.4.pack.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="jquery.fancybox-1.3.4.css" media="screen" /><script type = "text/javascript">function setCookie(isName,isVal) { document.cookie = isName + "=" + isVal + ";expires=" + "path=/";}function getCookie(isName){ cookieStr = document.cookie; startSlice = cookieStr.indexOf(isName+"="); if (startSlice == -1) {return null;} endSlice = cookieStr.indexOf(";",startSlice+1); if (endSlice == -1){endSlice = cookieStr.length} isData = cookieStr.substring(startSlice,endSlice) isValue = isData.substring(isData.indexOf("=")+1,isData.length); return isValue;}function setTimer() {setTimeout(closepopup, 5000); // 5 seconds}function closepopup(){ if(my_window.closed == false) { my_window.close (); } else {alert('Window already closed!'); }}$(document).ready(function() { if ( getCookie('myCookie') != null ) return; // no light box! setCookie('myCookie', 'ANY VALUE'); // for next time $("a#onload").fancybox({ 'frameHeight': 390, 'frameWidth': 640, 'hideOnContentClick': false, 'easingIn': 2000 }).trigger('click'); });</script> <div style="display: none;" id="lightbox_content"> <div id="data"><a href=""><img height="333" width="625" src="lightbox1.jpg" alt="" title="Lightbox" /></a> <a id="onload" href="#data"></a>
  7. I'm working on a rotator for my site. I'm trying to add text over the picture. It works in IE and Chrome. But not in Firefox.Here's the linkHere's my css.slideshow { position:relative; float:left; }.text p { background-color: black; position: relative; top: -45px; height: 32px; width: 650px; color: white; font-size: 24px; text-align: center;}
  8. OK, so I work at a TV station.The schedule lists the programs that will be airing that day. Right now, the schedule is defaulted to 1pm. So if someone comes to our site at 5pm, it's going to show what's airing at 1pm. I'd like to change this to where when someone comes to our site, it show's what's airing at that moment (5pm programming if it's 515pm, 6pm programming if it's 605pm and so on). Right now, the scheduler already switches to the correct day and pulls the correct programming, we just need it to bring up the correct time.I talked to the developer who created the scheduler and he said this can be done through javascript. Being new to javascript, I'm needing some help as I don't know where to get started. Here's the script just in case it's needed. Thanks <script type="text/javascript" src="/rotatorjs/flashobject.js"></script><div id="flashcontent"><a href="/Schedule/"><img border="0" src="/images/flash_viewschedule.gif" alt="" /></a><a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"><img border="0" src="/images/flash_getflash.gif" alt="" /></a></div><script type="text/javascript">var fo = newFlashObject("/schedule.swf?currentTime=Nov 29, 2006 01:20:27 PM", "homeflash", "595","240", "7", "#FFFFFF");fo.addParam("wmode","transparent");fo.write("flashcontent");</script>
  9. OK, I'm currently filling in as a web designer at my work. Basically, I'm getting on the job training. That said, my company is small. I'm having to fill out a survey for a service we are going to be using and in it they ask "Does your local web content use a taxonomy?"Can someone explain what they are asking? We use a CMS system if that matters. Any help? Thanks/
  10. Hello,I was wondering, how to I play commercials before a flash video or Mpeg 4? I know I could edit the commercial into the the beginning of the video. but is there another way? Or do I have to go with a pay service? Thanks so much.
  11. OK, so I've set up a lightbox to pop up when people visit a homepage. However, I only want it to pop up once per session. I'm not to familiar with cookies, so I had a friend of mine help. However, when I place the cookie in the header, the lightbox quit working. I'm really don't know much at all about cookies, so I'm not sure what's wrong with this script. Like I said, the lightbox works perfectly fine before I add the cookie. When I add the cookie, the lightbox won't work at all. Can someone help? The script is below.<html><head><script type = "text/javascript">function setCookie(isName,isVal) { document.cookie = isName + "=" + isVal + ";expires=" + "path=/";}function getCookie(isName){ cookieStr = document.cookie; startSlice = cookieStr.indexOf(isName+"="); if (startSlice == -1) {return null;} endSlice = cookieStr.indexOf(";",startSlice+1); if (endSlice == -1){endSlice = cookieStr.length} isData = cookieStr.substring(startSlice,endSlice) isValue = isData.substring(isData.indexOf("=")+1,isData.length); return isValue;}$(document).ready(function() { if ( getCookie('myCookie') != null ) return; // no light box! setCookie('myCookie', 'ANY VALUE'); // for next time $("a#onload").fancybox({ 'frameHeight': 390, 'frameWidth': 640, 'hideOnContentClick': false, 'easingIn': 2000 }).trigger('click'); }); }}</script></head><body><script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.mousewheel-3.0.4.pack.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.fancybox-1.3.4.pack.js"></script><p><link media="screen" href="labs/pledge_lightbox/fancybox/jquery.fancybox-1.3.4.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" /><script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("a#onload").fancybox({ 'frameHeight': 390, 'frameWidth': 640, 'hideOnContentClick': false, 'easingIn': 2000 }).trigger('click'); // trigger simulates a mouseclick on the anchor tag, loading the lightbox. }); </script></p><div id="lightbox_content" style="display: none"><div id="data"><img title="Lightbox" height="333" alt="Double Your Donation: November 17-December 17" width="700" src="./images/filecabinet/folder50/1290381825dydlightbox.jpg" /> </a><h1>Support Us Today!!</h1></div></div> <a id="onload" href="#data"></a></body></html>

  14. OK, so I've been working on a new site for my employer and I'm having a little trouble.Here's the link: mrswaldrop.com/temp.htmOkay, first, I'm trying to replace the rotator (that's not working). A friend of mine was helping me with it, but I've been having trouble with it as of late and I can't seem to get a hold of home. So anyway, I'm trying to replace it with the one at http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle/basic.htmlBut every time I do, it screws up all my formatting.2. I want the sidebar to be where it's at, but I want it to start at the top of the page. For some reason it's starting down the page. I've messed with the padding on the main content and width, but nothing is helping.3. I want the News and Events Part to start directly below the rotator. Right now is down the page.I should add, I ran the HTML and CSS through a validator. The HTML had some errors, however, most were a couple of widgets I added from a company's website that provides resources for my company. I'm getting with them tomorrow about the errors.Thanks for your help
