Yeah, this seemed right to me too. In my Behaviors Panel, I selected the button, clicked on the "+", selected "web page" and typed in "#services" (I even tried "index.html#services"), and selected "_top" but it doesn't work. :-( Anything I might be doing wrong?Thanks again,Ted(I'm using flash mx 2004)

Hi,I've got an html page with a flash header on it. In the flash header I've got buttons that I need to set up links to different locations on the same html page. In html I would use the <A HREF="#location" and <A NAME="location". How do I achieve this type of thing with the link in the flash header.Thanks!Ted Vieira

I've set up my flash site than i'm working on so that when a navigation button is pushed, it loads the appropriate swf file. This works pretty seemless for me, but I've noticed on testing the site with slightly "slower" hi-speed connections, the time that it takes the next swf file to load is a bit too long, in order to have a real slick presentation.Is there an easy way to combine all of the fla files together to create one master swf file for the entire site?here's the site I'm referring to if this helps at all: http://www.tedvieira.com/flash/index.htmlThanks,Ted

No, I'm not using a preloader. I'm still pretty new to Flash and I haven't looked into how to make a preloader yet. I just want to see if maybe this was a common problem - like maybe if if I forgot to do something obvious that I didn't know about yet.I've noticed if the page has loaded, yet still shows the Read: www.tedvieira.com message in the status bar, if I open a new window or click over to another window that's already open, when I click back to my flash site, the status bar shows "Done," even if I just click to the new window, then click back right away. Like I said, I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything that is causing problems.Thanks for taking a look.Ted

I've created my first site completely done with Flash. To navigate from page to page I use the Loadmovie action for each button to load the swf file for that page. Everything seems to be working fine, but I notice that even after the swf file has loaded for the new "page," my status bar at the bottom of the browser says it's still transferring data from the website. Is this an indication that there is something wrong in my file? I've got scrolling text set up on my links page to scroll a movie clip of my links.In the movie clip I entered the text, which looks something like this:LINK 1blah blah blah blah blahLINK2blah blah blah blah... etc.Then I highlight the text that I want to be the link, LINK, 1 and in the properties panel I go down to the bottom where I enter the URL for the text link, then select _blank.This all looks fine in the movie clip, but then I return to scene 1 and test the movie. The links work great, but it seems to take out any spaces between the paragraphs so it looks more like...LINK 1blah blah blah blah blahLINK2blah blah blah blah... etc.What's going wrong here and is there a setting that I'm unaware of?Thanks!Ted

I'm a little new to Flash. I'm using MX2004 Professional.I've created a website that has background music. I've been able to create a text button to stop the music if the visitor wants to. I just typed the phrase "music off," converted it to a Button symbol. Then I selected the text button, went to the Behavior Panel and clicked on the "+" sign, selected Sounds>Stop All Sounds. That works fine.Then I did a similar proceedure to create a button to turn the music on but when I go to the Behavior Panel, click on +, select Sounds>Play.... then a dialog box pops up and asks me to: "Type the name of the sound instance to play." and there's a blank text fied for me to type in.How do I know the "name of the sound instance?" I've gone to the layer where the sound file (mp3) is but can't find any thing about the name of the instance.I would really appreciate any help. Thanks,Ted
