  1. Hello. I have a question about drawing lines using javascript and HTML5. The code below calls a function that draws two lines with the same coordinates. The first line is drawn in black, the second in white. The intention is that the second line will erase the first line. The results that I see in Chrome a subtle Gray line. A ghost line or a line with screen artifacts. I was wondering if the community might be aware of an attribute that I am failing to set that will remove this problem. Thanks! PDXPat <html> <head></head> <body onLoad="draw();"> <canvas id="canvas" width="640" height="480"></canvas> <p id="debug"/> <script type="application/javascript"> var DEBUG = false; var line_left = 0;var line_right = 640;var line_top = 0;var line_bottom = 480; var canvas = document.getElementById('canvas');var ctx = canvas.getContext('2d'); var WIDTH=640, HEIGHT=480; function drawline( l, t, r, b, color ){debug(l);debug(t);debugĀ®;debug(; ctx.lineWidth=1;ctx.strokeStyle = color;ctx.beginPath();ctx.moveTo(l, t);ctx.lineTo(r, ;ctx.stroke(); } function draw(){drawline( line_left, line_top, line_right, line_bottom, "#000000" ); drawline( line_left, line_top, line_right, line_bottom, "#ffffff" );} function debug(text){if(DEBUG)document.getElementById("debug").innerHTML = document.getElementById("debug").innerHTML + "<br>" + text;} </script> </body> </html> GhostLine.html
  2. Hello All, Is there any sort of tag that will open a default phone application like Skype. A tag similar to mailto or webcal? if not what sort of web language could access a computer directory to find and open it? Thanks!
  3. Hello Everyone! I am making HTML 5 exercices for children with the Google Chrome Browser & HTML 5 Speech Input. Now my problem is that the Speech Input misses a lot for example I said "Nine" and Google Chrome filled in "Ni**er" & I said "Cat" Chrome filled in "Pu**y". So I did research and I know it is possible with the Opera variant to define a set of limited words called "Grammar". Now we got to my question: "Is it possible to define a Grammar (set of words) with the HTML 5 Speech Input". A bonus question: "Do you know an example website with some fancy things that u can do with the Speech Input" Thanks to anyone who can help! Kind regards
  4. Hi All, How do we grab the day, mth and year values from the date input with html5? Thanks
  5. Hi all. I am starting a little blog at blogspot.. (any suggestions of who hosts better coding blogs?) Anyway, first up is an example I made detailing some of the caveats of getting started with html5 canvas. Unlike some of the 2nd-english givers out there, my english is good from morning ablutions on. I'm the Steve Carrel type who has a need to be praised. the address ishttp://programahead.blogspot.com the end result can be seen herehttp://respaceable.com/examplemove "usually the people you're worried about stealing your ideas, you should be shoving your ideas down their throats."
