  1. Help styling my blog

    Hello This is my site: http://hojalateriaelguante.agencialosnavegantes.cl/ At the end of the page, just before the footer, i have a blog, and i need it to look like the attached picture. By default, the blog element of this theme has the featured image above and the content below, i did an inspection with Chrome and i tried putting a "float:left" to the featured image and kind of worked but, the content and the picture are too close to each other, and i want to separate them, just how they look on the example attached. How can i do this?
  2. someone please help? :)

    hello! I have just started learning about html, css and all that stuff.. I am beginning to get an understanding.. But there is something that really annoys me! This is used to automatic retrieve post title, link and content.. but how?? I would like to have a featured image+some text on my first page, instead of the whole post! ${ } <div class="entry"> <h2> <a href="${EntryCategoryLink}">${EntryTitle}</a> </h2> <div class="content">${entrybody}</div>
  3. HTML4 <--> HTML5 Question

    I post regularly on forums and blogs that allow HTML in the post but of course there is no access to CSS and anything "fancy" (inline CSS type things) is stripped. Things like border widths, coloring, object with, _blank are allowed and so on. Sometimes I forget the sytax or even wording of formatting I have used in the past and try to look it up. So many sites that I have used in the past now say, "not used for HTML 5" and then do not give any reference to the old command. Is this to say that documents using HTML4 will not be recognized? Most recently I was doing a post on a closed WordPress blog. I wanted buffering around a photo using the traditional table method, line widths and colors, and cell background coloring. Everything I researched gave me how to do with CSS. I'm not going to tear apart a WordPress site that regularly switches themes and each post and some pages have custom elements just to hard code the CSS. To top it off, this is a multisite which, if you are not familiar with WordPress, means one base set of web instructions and database form the foundation for many "web sites" (in my case) each of a different theme and design elements. Some are out of the box, some highly tweaked. And yes, I know how to make child themes. So, does the use of HTML5 mean all the posts on blogs and forums will need to be updated and what happens to those that happily use old-style formatting which does exactly what is needed and desired and not have the more modern inline scripting that is not allowed sometimes. (or, for old fogeys as I, harder to remember)
  4. Add A Blog Entry

  5. Blog Pagination (Tumblr)

    Hey guys, I have the following problem: On my blog (http://nachdenkblog.tumblr.com) I want to make it possible to switch directly between the blog entries.At the bottom of the main site you can see pagination between the sites. (BTW, it's in German but I guess you see what it means.) But if you open a specific entry you can see a similar but smaller footer without links to click.The code I used for this is the following: {block:PermalinkPage} <div class="FUSSBEREICH PERMA"> <div class="SCHATTEN"> </div> <div class="FUSS"> <div class="NAVIGATION"> {block:Pagination} <ul> {block:PreviousPost} <li> <a href="{PreviousPost}"> Vorheriger Eintrag </a> </li> {/block:PreviousPost} {block:NextPost} <li> <a href="{NextPost}"> Nächster Eintrag </a> </li> {/block:NextPost} </ul> {/block:Pagination} </div> </div> </div> {/block:PermalinkPage} (In case you need to know: FUSSBEREICH = footer; SCHATTEN = shadow; FUSS = foot)But as I said, no link at all is displayed. Can someone tell me why? Regards,Thomas
  6. Best blog framework?

    Hi! I'm going to set up a blog-like website, but I don't really want to use something like tumblr or wordpress. So what's the best (and easiest!!) framework to build this on? Django and Rails on Ruby, are these good choices or are there better options? Thanks in advance/Nicolas

  8. Help With Iweb

    I created a blog using iweb. However, according to Apple it won't allow to use comments because I'm using a third party to host my website (go daddy). According to Apple and GoDaddy I have to change the code (I have no idea how to) in order to add comments to my website. Two questions: Is this advisable and how can I do it? I don't have mobileme so would like to continue to use GoDaddy. Any insight?
