  1. I copied the game code from w3 schools for a school project, however I wanted to change the turning and moving object from a red square to an image. Now everything works fine but the image does not turn when the object turns, how do I fix this. Here is my code: <html> <head> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"/> <style> canvas { border:1px solid #d3d3d3; background-color: #f1f1f1; } </style> </head> <body onload="startGame()"> <script> var myGamePiece; function startGame() { myGamePiece = new component(30, 30, "images/smiley.png", 255, 255, "image"); myGameArea.start(); } var myGameArea = { canvas : document.createElement("canvas"), start : function() { this.canvas.width = 800; this.canvas.height = 500; this.context = this.canvas.getContext("2d"); document.body.insertBefore(this.canvas, document.body.childNodes[0]); this.frameNo = 0; this.interval = setInterval(updateGameArea, 10); window.addEventListener('keydown', function (e) { e.preventDefault(); myGameArea.keys = (myGameArea.keys || []); myGameArea.keys[e.keyCode] = (e.type == "keydown"); }) window.addEventListener('keyup', function (e) { myGameArea.keys[e.keyCode] = (e.type == "keydown"); }) }, stop : function() { clearInterval(this.interval); }, clear : function() { this.context.clearRect(0, 0, this.canvas.width, this.canvas.height); } } function component(width, height, color, x, y, type) { this.type = type; if (type == "image") { this.image = new Image(); this.image.src = color; } this.width = width; this.height = height; this.speed = 0; this.angle = 0; this.moveAngle = 0; this.x = x; this.y = y; this.update = function() { ctx = myGameArea.context; if (type == "image") { ctx.drawImage(this.image, this.x, this.y, this.width, this.height); } else { ctx.fillStyle = color; ctx.fillRect(this.width / -2, this.height / -2, this.width, this.height); } ctx.save(); ctx.translate(this.x, this.y); ctx.rotate(this.angle); ctx.restore(); } this.newPos = function() { this.angle += this.moveAngle * Math.PI / 180; this.x += this.speed * Math.sin(this.angle); this.y -= this.speed * Math.cos(this.angle); } } function updateGameArea() { myGameArea.clear(); myGamePiece.moveAngle = 0; myGamePiece.speed = 0; if (myGameArea.keys && myGameArea.keys[37]) {myGamePiece.moveAngle = -2; } if (myGameArea.keys && myGameArea.keys[39]) {myGamePiece.moveAngle = 2; } if (myGameArea.keys && myGameArea.keys[38]) {myGamePiece.speed= 2; } if (myGameArea.keys && myGameArea.keys[40]) {myGamePiece.speed= -2; } myGamePiece.newPos(); myGamePiece.update(); } </script> <p></p> </body> </html> I very appreciate the help!
  2. I was thinking it would be nice for people to be easily be able to play other people's games they made (using languages such as JavaScript) without telling them to copy-paste your code. I'd like to play what other people made. As long as its it not a virus code. The only problem is, how would you do it? I have no idea.
  3. This would be quite a simple issue for someone more experienced: (I have just begun with Jquery and Javascript)I have coded a really simple HTML, CSS, Jquery animation.. The ball <div> moves from side to side (Pretty Damn COOL!) BUT... I need to try and trigger the animation with scrolling, basically creating a 'Pong' game. From one side of the scren to the other. HOW do I do this? I have been trying to find a sollution online and can't. Please help, or I will find you and kill you. <!DOCTYPE html><html> <head> <title> Pong </title> <style type="text/css"> .pong{ position: relative; border-radius:100%; top:250px; float:left; z-index: 1; width: 100px; height: 100px; transition-property: transform, -webkit-transform; transition-duration: 0.2s; transition-timing-function: ease-out; background-color:#FFF700; } #stage{ min-height:500px; min-width:500px; background-size:cover; } </style> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.9.1.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { move(); }); function move() { $(".pong").animate({ left: 900 }, { duration: 5000, complete: function () { $(".pong").animate({ left: 40 }, { duration: 5000, complete: function () { move(); } }); } }); } </script> <script type="text/javascript"> </script> </head> <body> <div class id="stage"> <div class="pong"> </div> </div> </body></html> any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Star Defender: Spawned of toxic waste and forged by fallen electrical wires, no one has ever laid eyes on the face of Star Defender - because he doesn't have one.... Star Defender is on a mission to save his planet and he needs your help. Link to game : http://www.gtrace.mobi/ChromeExperiments/StarDefender/ Thank you in advance if you give feedback
  5. I seem to have gotten in over my head with this project. I spent most of the day just typing out code, without the ability to debug it due to slow browser speed. When I got off work I started correcting my syntax errors, which didn't take very long. Unfortunately, I have spent many hours trying to resolve some sort of logic error in the game which is apparently a very serious one, as it prevents any of my sprites from appearing. The fillRect() function is showing up perfectly, but the drawImage() function is not. I will go ahead and post the whole game code, as it is pretty concise by my own meager standards. I am a noob to javascript and coding in general, and this will probably show. That being said, I really expected this to work, and would certainly appreciate any help which is on offer. Upon previewing my post I noticed that spacing differences rendered my map array unreadable. I have decided to attach a text file (as I am not permitted to upload .js files) instead of pasting. I hope this is acceptable. script.txt
  6. Hi! I am making a little game for iOS using apache's Cordova.I use Zepto.js as a light css3 jQuery replacement for animations etc. Players have to create letters as Wim Crouwel did in his New Alphabet, they have to do it in a short amount of time, thus far the project is going fine for the limited skills i have but now i am encountering a problem and i dont know where it could come from. What happens is that when i validate if a letter hase been constructed correctly and it is in fact correct it adds 2 "levels" instead of just 1, what i discovered is that the script actually runs twice. It even reacts tot the amounts of clicks i made on the page, lets say i click 4 "clickable" element's on the page it ads 4 levels. This is what i get in the console: 2 clicks = 2 levels up?validating...correct! go from level 0 to..1validating...correct! go from level 0 to..2 here is a live demo:http://bram-de-leeuw...welGame/(you'll probably have to resize your browser to make it work, the first thing you'll see is a iPhone5 version that isn't styled correctly. When you'll make your browser smaller it will show a iPhone 4 version.) This is the validation code: // Validate Letter A$("#verder").click(function () {//if (Level = 0){ // LETTER = A // CORRECT console.log("validating..."); if ( // LETTER A $(".CenterBottom").hasClass("black") === true && $(".CenterRight").hasClass("black") === true && // NOT LETTER A $(".CenterLeft").hasClass("black") === false && $(".CenterTop").hasClass("black") === false && // ETC.. ){ // IF ITS CORRECT console.log("correct! go from level 0 to..") Level++; $("#alert-fact").animate("Alert", {duration:2000, easing: 'ease'}); $(".CenterBottom").animate("Correct", {duration:2000, easing: 'ease'}); $(".CenterRight").animate("Correct", {duration:2000, easing: 'ease'}); console.log(Level); // SOMETHING IS MISSING } else if ( $(".CenterBottom").hasClass("black") === true && $(".CenterRight").hasClass("black") === false || $(".CenterRight").hasClass("black") === true && $(".CenterBottom").hasClass("black") === false ) { $("#alert-missing").animate("Alert", {duration:2000, easing: 'ease'}); if ($(".CenterBottom").hasClass("black") === true) { $(".CenterBottom").animate("Correct", {duration:2000, easing: 'ease'}); }; if ($(".CenterRight").hasClass("black") === true) { $(".CenterRight").animate("Correct", {duration:2000, easing: 'ease'}); }; // WRONG } else { $("#alert-wrong").animate("Alert", {duration:2000, easing: 'ease'}); };//};//if (Level = 1){ // LETTER = B//};});
