  5. Hello all, I am relatively new to HTML and am having a problem that I don't know the best way to solve. Please can anyone help. I am creating an HTML5 web page with a sticky header that contains copyright information that needs to always remain visible at the top of the page. I successfully created the header using the fixed position attribute. The header is a constant size, the full screen width, and remains visible throughout. When the page is scrolled the text scrolls up under the header. That, in itself, is not a problem. What is a problem, however, is when there is a link using the <a href="yyyyy.html#xxxxx"> tag. The display jumps to the link, but the link text is now displayed at the very top of the screen, under, and consequently hidden by, the fixed header. Is there a way to either: 1) Make the bulk of the web page only use the space below the header, or 2) Make the jump to the link display not at the top of the screen, but lower by the height of the header. My only other consideration is that I would like to do this in a manner that has the most backward compatibility. The web pages I am creating might need to be displayed world wide on older systems. So, even though I am currently testing HTML5 I am actually trying not to take advantage of new HTML5 features. Many thanks in anticipation, Roy

  8. Hello. I'm having problem with data-transition in jQuery mobile If I use this code without having "id" parameter in the href : $('#allList').append('<li><a href="#DeadlineDetail" data-transition = "flow" >'+ allDeadline.class +'<br>'+ allDeadline.duedate+' '+ allDeadline.duetime+'<br>'+ allDeadline.description +'</a></li>'); The data-transition can work normally But if I add the "id" parameter to the href like this so there will have no data-transition animation $('#allList').append('<li><a href="?id='+allDeadline.id+'#DeadlineDetail" data-ajax = true data-transition = "flow" >'+ allDeadline.class +'<br>'+ allDeadline.duedate+' '+ allDeadline.duetime+'<br>'+ allDeadline.description +'</a></li>'); Do u have any solution for this ?   11. how to get click value from href?

  12. I have a form that contains the following fields: Address City State Zip I convert this to FullAddress with: Dim FullAddress As StringFullAddress = Address & " " & City & " " & State & " " & Zip I am outputting to Outlook and want to create a link to Bing Maps with: "<br><A HREF=http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&where1=" & FullAddress & "&sty=b>Bing Maps</A>" Somehow the A HREF function truncates the string to the first space contained in the FullAddress. So if the address read "5822 Cranston, Portage, MI 49002", the actual output hyperlink is: http://www.bing.com/...v=2&where1=5822 Instead of what I want it to do which is : http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&where1=5822 Cranston, Portage, MI 49002 &sty=b I realize that HREF may not like spaces but my field Address has the street number and address in the same field instead of separate fields.
  13. Ok, first let me explain what I try to do. I have a menu with some items containing a submenu. The submenu's should open when a parent is clicked and contains submenu's, and when traveling to another page (from the item clicked, for example a parent of submenu item), the submenu should remain active and visible. Now when I click on a parent item the submenu quickly blinks but is closed even as fast as it opens. I want the submenu to remain open when clicked on a parent that has a submenu, so users can easily navigate. So, here is the code I have so far: <div id="topnav"> <ul> <li> <a href="index.html">Home</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">Over Meves</a> <ul class="submenu"> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Historie</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Onze mensen</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Werkzijze</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="vervolg3.html">Disciplines</a> <ul class="submenu"> <li><a href="vervolg.html" class="suba">Klimaatbeheersing</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Elektrotechniek</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Sanitaire techniek</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Energiebesparingstechniek</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Bouwfysica en geluid</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Diensten energiebesparing</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="#">Expertise</a> <ul class="submenu"> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Woningbouw & Utiliteit</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Zorg & Welzijn</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Milieu & Energie</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Beheer & Onderhoud</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">EPA & EPC</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Legionella beheersing</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="#">Contact</a> <ul class="submenu"> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Adres & route</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="suba">Werken bij</a></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </div> The javascript: var ddmenuitem = 0;function jsddm_open(){ jsddm_close(); ddmenuitem = $(this).find('ul.submenu').css('display', 'block');}function jsddm_close(){if(ddmenuitem) ddmenuitem.css('display', 'none');}$(document).ready(function(){ $('#topnav > ul > li').bind('click', jsddm_open) $('#topnav ul li a.suba').click(function(e){ if ($(this).attr('class') != 'active'){ $('#topnav ul li a.suba').removeClass('active'); $(this).addClass('active'); } }); $('a').filter(function(){ return this.href === document.location.href; }).addClass('active') $("ul.submenu > li > a").each(function () { var currentURL = document.location.href; var thisURL = $(this).attr("href"); if (currentURL.indexOf(thisURL) != -1) { $(this).parent("ul.submenu").css('display', 'block'); } });}); And the css: #topnav ul{list-style: none;padding: 0;margin: 0;}#topnav ul li{float: left;margin: 0;padding: 0;}#topnav ul li a{padding: 5px 15px;color: #00537F;text-decoration: none;display: block;font-weight: bold;}#topnav ul li a:link{color: #FFF;text-decoration: none;}#topnav ul li a:visited{color: #FFF;text-decoration: none;}#topnav ul li a:hover{color: #FFF;text-decoration: underline;}#topnav ul li a.active{text-decoration: underline;color: #FFF;}/*#topnav ul li:hover .submenu{display:block;}*/#topnav ul li ul.submenu{float: left;padding: 4px 0;position: absolute;left: 0;top: 24px;display: none;background: #e0e0e0;color: #00537F;}#topnav ul li ul.submenu a{display: inline;color: #00537F;padding: 4px 8px;}#topnav ul li ul.submenu li{border-right-width: 1px;border-right-style: solid;border-right-color: #00537F;}#topnav ul li ul.submenu li:last-child{border-right-style: none;}#topnav ul li ul.submenu a:link{color: #00537F;}#topnav ul li ul.submenu a:visited{color: #00537F;}#topnav ul li ul.submenu a:hover{text-decoration: underline;color: #00537F;}#topnav ul li ul.submenu li.active{text-decoration: underline;color: #00537F;}#topnav ul li ul.submenu a.active{text-decoration: underline;color: #00537F;}
  14. Losing Connection To Part Of Css Page.

    OK, I'm new. I've adapted some pages for our local club by brute force and ignorance, and achieved both XHTML and CSS validation. Sample here - http://www.titchfiel...ultsFinal1.html Now I'm trying to learn CSS properly, so back to page 1. I was changing one little bit of CSS (below the 'body' section) at a time, when suddenly the 'body' section in the CSS page is no longer recognised, all the rest is. So I type out again the missing section, save (leaving the original in place), and it works - but only if I leave both copies in. These are copied and pasted from the CSS file, I can't see any difference between the two, or why it should need both. What's going on, please? body (the orignal){background-color:#cde6ff;background-image:url(images/bg_body.png);background-repeat:repeat-x;padding-top:100px;} body (re-typed replacement){background-color:#cde6ff;background-image:url(images/bg_body.png);background-repeat:repeat-x;padding-top:100px; } It might be worth mentioning that I always seem to have trouble making the initial 'link href' work - the last time I had to copy a set of existing HTML and CSS files into the directory, that appeared to give the link a nudge, so it then worked. The full CSS page is below,if required - v/* Default CSS *//* Generated by the CoffeeCup HTML Editor - www.coffeecup.com */@charset "UTF-8"; body {background-color: #cde6ff;background-image:url(images/bg_body.png);background-repeat: repeat-x;padding-top: 100px;}body{background-color: #cde6ff;background-image:url(images/bg_body.png);background-repeat: repeat-x;padding-top: 100px;} h1{color:#ff0000;font-size:3em;font-family: "Arial Black", Arial, sans-serif;text-align:center;} p{font-family: "Palatino Linotype", Baskerville, serif;color:#616161;line-height:150%;margin-top:10px;margin-left:80px;font-size: 1.5em;} h2{color:#ff0000;font-weight:normal;font-family: "Palatino Linotype", Baskerville, serif;font-size:2.2em;border-bottom:2px white solid;background :url(images/bullet_flower.png) no-repeat ;padding: 0 0 2px 80px;margin: 0;} .intro{color:#0000ff;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 1.2em;margin-left: 20px;margin-bottom:25px;} .bold{font-size: 1.5em;color: #000000;font-weight:bold; }
