HTML register mark code broken

Recommended Posts

HelloThere's a section of our website that pulls most of its content from an XML page. In this page I use the HTML entity for register mark (®) in several places. Our host (Pair.net) just updated our servers to PHP 5 and it has seemed to cause all instances of the register mark code to add an uppercase, accented A in front of it. Here's an example:http://www.buzgate.org/zz/b2b_funding.html#COMMDIRI've tried using the alternative entity (®) but it breaks the page. Does anyone have any suggestions?Many thanks

I've had this happen. For me, it was a problem with the character encoding of the page.If you specify the encoding that you need for the pages, then it will over-ride the settings of people's browsers so that the page is rendered how it should be.Something like
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">

in the head of the pages should solve the problem.
