Another site to look at

I've ironed out some wrong doings by ie6 so now this site is ready to be critiqued. There are still a few bits to iron out but i think its 90% there.

For a second there I was wondering "Who is Claudia Romani and why is this not answered right at the front page?", but after seeing the picture, I was... how do you say... (turned) "on" enough to want to learn more .Now, my biggest and by far most important remark is the navigation. I've heard usability guidelines on not including links for the current page, but omitting the space there is just ridiculous. It makes for inconsistent navigation, which is far worse then including a link to the current page. Keep the navigation on all pages the same, except you may want to mark the current page link somehow (you decide how). It may not even be a link... just text. It's its "space" that matters.On the contacts page, it may be best if you leave "Claudia (fans)" as the default one, as true "fans" MAY not be patient enough to tip the top swich. On the other hand, people that look for with modeling deals in mind will be patient enough to review the options on this single drop down. The same goes for anyone concerned enough to write about a problem/suggestion on the site. I may be wrong in my assumption though, so it will be probably be best if you leave it like that for some time, and later ask her how much (if any) wrong mail she has received (i.e. if there were any fans writing with the modeling subject or vice versa).(speaking of the contact page, what does she have against "fur modeling", if by that is meant "defiling with fur top on her + other clothes of course" and isn't she wearing fur on the picture on that exact page? Just curious...)As she (or is that you?) says, the gallery is not quite ready yet. Needless to say you should either force her to put thumbnails for future pictures and you manually make thumbnails of the pictures until now, or you should auto generate thumbnails with PHP upon file upload.In addition, I'd suggest you drop down the dropdown (pun intended) and just add the appropriate links on the list. I think she means real fur, as i started reading this it did dawn on me that she is wearing fur. Maybe if I add the word 'real' the picture may be a bit more relevant to the page.

There's no way to "pre-load" all this bunch of images. You need thumbnails. And you need a way to generate them from the full images, or create them manually (ideally - generate them automatically, allowing for override if explicit thumbnail file is supplied).On the contact page, you seem to allow empty messages. I don't think that's a good idea. Show some error message if there's not even a message. I can understand someone not providing their email or name, but not providing message is nonsence that should be acted upon.BTW, from her mySpace page:

Man, I would have loved to have done that site - congrats.

• for a small nav structure, I think you're better off putting across the top - to the right - at the bottom of the red banner
• moving the nav gives you more room to show here off, for instance, your news page wastes all the space with the nav while you have a tall skinny (unproportionate mind you) image of her forced on the right. Use the same amount of space for the news text, move the nav and now you have twice the amount of space for an image - maybe the same one correctly proportioned.
• the biography page is probably the best - but again would benefit from moving the nav and having more focus on her - that is why people and agents come there - she is the product she needs to be the feature of every page.
• the gallery page needs the most work - get it in the smae template and then use a light box script for the images - they are easy to integrate and make things 10x times more professional.

I do not want to take anything away from what you've done thus far, but you still have a decent amount of work to get the site to properly represent her - in my opinion.

How come? There are no nude pictures (show me if I have missed some ), so why? There's only one "implied topless" image on the links page, which btw needs any content.

No offence buddy, but your not using your common sense.It has nothing to do with nudity, it is to do with this is a forum where younger people may be viewing.And, the background image on that site is the first, part of the young girl's backside is showing. The whole image appears sexual in one perspective.

I wouldn't consider that sexual... sexy, yes, but nothing sexier than what's usually on TV commercials, magazine covers and the like. If you considered every similar image "sexual" or worse yet - pornographic, then you must either be a perver, or Mohammedan (i.e. this opinion must derive either from cultural or characteristic difference). Like it or not, "$ex" in general is all around us. And while she still has any clothes on and doesn't show naked intimate body parts (the names of which I won't say because of our younger audience), her pictures are just as saint as any other models' pictures (regardless of their medium) are.

You can only sugar coat so much. :)To the site - I think it needs some work on the design/coding all together. All in all though, once you get some content in there - you will get the point across.
