HouseKeeping script for Application Log

Hi all,i have an application running on an Server.After some days, i found some isse with the application and was needed to restart that.?But it was not able to Re start the server....and later it was investigated thatthe server space was out of memory.....as the log files that are getting created has eaten the space completly.Now i am in search of a Housekeeping script which takes a backup of these logs as a Archived Zip files on a weekly or fortnight basis and Delete the Logs on server space.is it possible.My doubt is that, can we able to transfer the Archived log files to any other drive with out any manual action.If not then....these archived files will just replace the Logs ( in .txt).Hope i have explained my issue properly.Please help me in this regard.Thanks in advance.
