ONLINE VALIDATOR

Recommended Posts

I use the W3C validator religously but is there a bug in it?  When I check my code it displays a "duplicate id" error.  However, a duplicate id is required to connect the audio tag and javascript.  I've uploaded the validator screen capture and a portion of my offending HTML5 and javascript code.  Thoughts anyone...  SLiM

Duplicate id have never EVER! been allowed, so there is no bug, your code is incorrect and it is rightly telling you so. An id reference should be unique within a page, if you want more than one you should use class names instead, or give the offending line a different id and refer to that.

Well, call me stupid !  *o)

The ID in the anchor tags wasn't necessary so why would I put one there?

Just having a senior moment the other day I guess !

Thanks...  SLiM
