Seems like the images for your site are jagged. Especially the top and bottom content image and the banner. Also the image for your horizontal navigation seem to have a problem (bottom part seems just a solid color). On the sitemap page I noticed the content (text) goes further down than your content image background. Other than that I think it's pretty good.Tested with Firefox only.

hey vchris,thx for the critique. the sitemap- not finished. i'm not sure what u meant when u talked about the image for the horizontal nav- the bottom part seems just a solid color. i was trying to look at the site and pin point what u meant- but i'm not sure... so help me out here plz.does the jagged look looks like it was intended? or like it was suppose to be otherwise? i see i need a big fat crash course in graphic design though. hhmmm.... the tabs images i can definitely identify with u-- they do kinda look... well... not too smooth. lol.well- i'll dig into your observation. i'll go work on those images!thx much.

What I mean by your horizontal navigation is you know you have some sort of inner black glow in them and at the bottom the glow is gone and it's just a solid color. The corners of those tabs seems like they don't connect right with the curves.About those jagged images, they don't look like that's how they should look.I think the banner could be smoother also.I like smooth curves

ok.i get you loud and clear this time.now you are really sending me back to work huh? lol- smile. well, i'll go do just that! work on it!but the lil inner black glow i have in the tabs- i did not want to take it right down to the bottom because i wanted it to blend back inwith the color on the left navigation. but i guess the idea may not beworking out too good.thx much again. i'll try to upload a corrected version sometime later- afteri finish proof reading 25 pages of words- no coding... hhmmmm.....

Much better then before. You have used most of the markup suggestions I gave you already. Few spacers and you'll be completely CSS compilant .The first and most important thing that I can comment on is that the images on the first menu (Home, Pastor, etc.) are a bit... in frame. They have a black background. I think they should have a transparent one instead or the black should go all the way to the right border. Currently it looks kind'a... out of place.The part:

Seems useless. For linking people to the top, you can use only "#" without a name as link or simply use your "content_all" if you insist on having something. The header image is one of the things you may use <img> for within the layout. Scince you're using an empty <div>, that's more of a "should" then "may" for you.I think your upper "Back to top" (right after "Photo Gallery") should be placed at the end of the whole navigation (right after "Other Links") instead.For the sake of accessability, you might want to add "Skip navigation" and "Skip links" links, placed just before those items and hide them with CSS. Along with the "back to top" links, such "CSS hidden" links are especially usefull for mobile phones who will probably use a different stylesheet.Can you add "Verse of the Day" inside the JavaScript that calls the actual content? when JS is disabled, the prase stays, but with no Verse whatsoever. Saving the user from thinkink (s)he did something wrong would be good (though whoever is smart enough to turn JS off is smart enough to know when sites behave badly because of the lack of JS).

ok- i'm back,i was trying to redesign the site over the past couple days. well, i listened to all the comments about the images. i was in the process of trying to make them better- then in the midst of it all i decided to just change it altogether. and this is what i came up with! Old Design latest version.uhhh... i dont know what u guys think- if this looks better or not. shout back and voice it all!!i'm in the process of making the other necessary changes. boen robot- i note ya: thanx.tonight i'll be working on the photo gallery- a css photo gallery. never did one before- so i hope its not all that big of a challege. u'll hear me scream if the weight is too much.

In IE7 (I don't know about IE6) the header image seems to shift below, making the whole page seem out of place. Eliminate all margins and paddings on the #header if any. If that fails, or disturbs other browsers, you can always use a third stylesheet only for IE7.

It's the same thing in IE 6 the page has a top margin it seems. Like he said remove margins/paddings on the header or on the body. In Firefox, the layout is ok.Now for the design. I think the stars in your banner still looks jagged a bit but it's better than before. Your top navigation could be better I think. I think it would be nicer if the looks wouldn't be simply black when not hovering them. Your content area is a lot better than before, no more jaggedness. On the right of the top navigation and top right content, I see a black border, don't you think it should be the same color as the background?That's about it.

hmmmm....i actually saw that IE header problem, but i was trying to work it out on my own before i cried for help. if i am stuck in working it out- then i'll shout for help on it. how do u do a seperate stylesheet for IE though- how would the browser know which one to use?i also noted the tab problem (or another tab problem) in IE- there should be a lil' space between the tabs and the content background- but that does not show in IE. it joins on to it instead. what i really want for the tabs is for it to be a fixed length. right now it all differs depending on which browser u use.also- the left navigation is quite spaced out on IE- its much closer (how i want it) in Firefox and Opera. i tried using max/ min height- but it did not work- i think.The letters/ words shows up bigger in IE as well.uuhhhh... i really dont know (as yet) how to fix those IE problems to be quite honest with ya.that 'black border on the right of the top navigation and top right content'-- uhhh, the original idea was actually to blend in with the background color yeah. i dont know how i got off track.u said the stars are still jagged? hmmm... hmmm is all i can say. lol. i use fireworks to design my graphics. i have coreldraw installed- but it sticks the pc most times i try to use it. i have photoshop, but... but, but. i dont know if using one of them would make the difference.

well, i never realised the hardship web developers had/ have in making their sites, etc. work as should in all browsers. how i wish this problem was none existence! it makes things sooo much more difficult! one browser shows things perfect- the other is a nightmare!i wish i could just wave a wand and this website would just turn perfect! lol. hmmm... ok, back to the topic- i hope i can get all this css coding DONE SOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!! i need to move on to other aspects of the site. (sigh)

You can use IE only styles in stylesheets with conditonal comments. Infact, your page already has one. The lines:

Will show the style_IE.css file only to IE6 or lower browsers. Those browsers are going to use the things in this stylesheet alongside your common stylesheets.If you just change the number in the conditional statement from 6 to 7, you'll make this stylesheet apply to IE7 as well. You can also add another CSS file that will have only fixes for IE7. That way, fixes for IE6 and lower won't disturb the IE7 design. Your overall code might looks something like:

aahhhhhhhhh... i see! well infact, i think that i had gotton that IE only stylesheet code from u (in the first thread). so, i tried it (not understanding it obviously)--> did not see any difference... saw that it looked like it was commented out... did not wanna uncomment it 'cause it might mess up my codes- then somehow over time i actually forgot it there.hahahahaaaaaa.... ok, stop that... dont laugh at me. lol. so all i have to do is to create a SEPERATE style sheet and define it... and place it in the same folder with the other .css and .html files? when the codes are executed- IE (which ever version) will search for it and execute it along side with the main .css file? so- i guess i have to use the same pre-defined names in the IE .css stylesheet that i used in the main .css file right? em em em... ok, enough questions asked. i'll go look it up sometime soon. thx for the enlightment.i have not complete the photo gallery as yet tho. yesterday my time was soaked up in proof-reading a 55 page research paper for a friend. what great punishment! lol. i'm gonna go n' step on it right now.

Same here. It worked the first time I opened it then the second time didn't work...EDIT: Works now! 1) Probably because you have your 2 divs floated. Increase the margins between them. When they're too close they wrap.2) Use px for font sizes.That's about all I can do for now.
