  1. Thanks a ton guys. I am going to try manipulating some of these examples tomorrow. I will post back my results, thanks again!
  2. Hey guys,I am currently working on a personal website, using only: XHMTL, CSS, PHP & MySQL. I have a simple MySQL database set up in which I will make blog posts. I am still a little new to PHP so I was wondering if there was a simple line of code to only display a certain amount of content per page. And then I can have a "previous entries." button which will display others. I am not going to be posting too many articles, just enough where I don't want them displayed all on one page. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if I am not being as clear as I could be I will try and explain it a little better. Thanks a ton!-Ant
  3. Thanks very much Jesdisciple! I have heard of WAMP and have downloaded WAMP before, just haven't fooled around with it yet. If I have anymore questions I will be sure to post or PM you. Thank you very much again!
  4. Thanks for the fast reply. Quick question, is there anyway to write a script that would let me test this without having a server? This is sort of an extra credit school project, and I don't have a server to test it on. Thanks again!
  5. Hey,I am not too sure if this is possible, but I am pretty sure it is. I am writting code for a couple pages and as you know sometimes things look different in Safari as they would in Firefox/Camino etc. I am writting a script to detect the users browser and then from that load a different external CSS file so the page can be viewed correctly. How should I go about doing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have only done a little bit of Javascript in the past. Thanks in advanced!
  6. This is a really great site! Thanks for the link, I will post back if I encounter anymore problems. Thanks again!
  7. I am running into another little road block here. I was able to code up a simple drop down menu for my portfolio website and I'm having a little trouble lining them up horizontally. I tried putting them in a table, but the table will expand when I roll over it and it drops down. What would be the best way to go about doing this?I'm sorry if I am not being as clear as I could be. I did not finish coding the drop down list because I wanted to figure this out before I went ahead, it'll just be copy and paste anyways. The code below is not positioned in a table: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /><title>Portfolio</title><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style_1.css" /><style type="text/css"><!--body,td,th { font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;}a:link { text-decoration: none;}a:visited { text-decoration: none;}a:hover { text-decoration: none;}a:active { text-decoration: none;}#Container { position:absolute; left:185px; top:42px; width:630px; height:239px; z-index:1;}#contact_menu{ width: 100px; height: auto;}.contact_menu ul{ list-style:none; margin:0; padding:0}.contact_menu ul li { display:none;}.contact_menu :hover ul li{ display:block; }--></style></head><body><div id="Container"><img src="images/portfolio_03.gif" /><img src="images/portfolio_04.gif" /><img src="images/portfolio_06.gif" /><img src="images/portfolio_07.gif" /><img src="images/portfolio_08.gif" /><img src="images/portfolio_09.gif" /></div><a href="Home.html">Home</a><div class="contact_menu" id="contact_menu"> <ul>Contact <ul> <li><a href="about_me.html">About Me</a></li> <li><a href="contact_info.html">Contact Info</a></li> </ul></ul> </div><a href="resume.html">Resume</a> <a href="clients.html">Clients</a><!--coded by Anthony--></body></html> Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced.
  8. Hi,I am trying to create a Div that will be centered on the page, no matter what size the browser window is. Now should I be assigning a % somewhere in my CSS syntax or somewhere else? I know this is very simple, but I am still a little stumped and I'm very anal about my pages. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advanced!.
  9. I haven't had a problem with Safari so far, so I guess it gets my vote. Lately Firefox has been giving me issues.
  10. Yeah, I didn't really know what to do with the text to be totally honest. Especially on the side where I would use the links. Would could I do to make the background repeat if it needs to? Also, what is the standard photoshop size for a website template or portfolio template? Thank you guys very much for the feedback! -Ant
  11. Hey,This is the first photoshop web layout that I have full completed. I've only been using photoshop for about a good month. I've been doing at least 2 tuts a day to make sure I learn something. Please tell me what you think, I really want to get better at what I am doing. Again, this isn't a masterpiece, it's my first layout. Thanks again!-Ant
  12. Thanks Pulp! :lol:f I am just sick of my banners not reaching the sides of the screen. Thank you very much!-ant
  13. Hey,I have been working on some banners for a school project for the past couple of days. I was wondering, what are the standard sizes for a banner. Mine seem to end up too big or too small. I'd like them to reach the sides of the page. What are the sizes you guys use on your banners? Thanks!-ant
  14. The color scheme hurts my eyes a little bit. -ant
