  1. Thank you for the feedback Jerry! I will check that a later, that seems like a nice suggestion. The button shape is actually just an indicator of what page you are on. For example if you clicked portfolio, the shape would go from highlighting the home link to the portfolio link. Im sorry but I think I may be reading this suggestion wrong, can you elaborate a bit more on what you mean by this? Yeah, theres a little semantics error I guess you could say, i'll change the styles to make my h2 mark-up turn to h1 instead. I believe I only use the align attribute for the flash player. Although, sin
  2. I do like this page, very simple but effective. The only problem to me is the navigation scheme. It is a bit too light and is not obvious to just be navigation at first glance. I suggest making it darker and easier to spot. Now I will say I had no problem looking at it but I have a feeling that a minority of people might not notice it right away.
  3. Hello everybody, I am making this thread because id like some critiques on my websites re-design before I launch it. I am a new and aspiring web designer/developer(mostly developer) who is looking to get into the website creation market. My current portfolio website looked tacky and I disliked it so a created a new layout with new contents.I am still currently writing up content for the homepage and about page and have not even start programming any of the functionality of the client center yet. (that part will take me a few months).Im pretty much done with the portfolio, contact, pricing and s

  8. Ok well I am making a flash portfolio site and I need help with two aspects of it.On the top is the header stuff and flash stuff and the bottom half is the html content and navigation part of the page.what I wanna do is be able to change the html content with the navigation at the bottom of the page without having to reload the flash gallery at the top. I was thinking of using frames to achieve this but then i ran into a problem because I could not figure out how to put two frames under one scrollbar. Is there a way with html/css to be able to change the bottom content of the page without chang

  10. Ok heres my problem,I have an application form that users fill out online. part of this form deals with them having to upload images.my problem is that I have 4 different pages the user goes through in the application process. The users upload his picture on the first page,What I want is for the pictures the user has uploaded in the form to only stay saved once they finish the applicationI though a $_SESSION would keep the pictures safe until they were uploaded them on the last page, but i was wrong. So what do I need to do to tell PHP to keep the images uploaded temporarily through multiple p
  11. Ok well heres my problem. I have two mysql tables.one table holds all information datathe other table holds all picture datawhen quering the tables i want to associate them by idmeaning I would like my images table id always equal the id of the information its associated with. heres my id setup:the id of the information table is set to auto incrementthe id of my images table is set to int.how can I use mysql/php to take the id that is being entered into the information table and insert that same id number for the pictures being associated with that information table? i wasnt sure whether to pu
  12. yes this is very 2.0ish but i would suggest adding padding on the bottom of your content so it doesn't cut off the text and go right to the bg. and theres space between the navigation button and the dropdown navigation. id suggest taking out the whitespace in the dropdown.this can be done by giving the nav images a display:block; style i believe.
  13. well i just finished the website layout(i think)and would like some critiquing of this layout before i go further with this.so please critique as harsh as ya want i dont mind :)its for a web design competition im going to enter so i need the layout to look really good.i know the code isnt completely valid yet so dont say anything about that i will get it validated without having to change the layout. but it works all the way back to IE 5.0 so im not complaining.heres the url:http://www.freewebs.com/flowerfestival
  14. ok heres my problem I downloaded a script called filethingie and what it does is lets users register accounts to login and manage their files. the only problem with the script that I need to change is that in the script you have to manually add the users editing a little pre-made script they give you. But I dont want to manually add each user, I want to query the users from an already made database instead. I kind of have a rough idea of how to do it but I keep running into major problems.the original code to add users was this: # in order to Additional users use this#/*$users['REPLACE_WITH_U

  21. Well Im working on creating a web design site, and so far all I have of the layout is the graphic of the layout which I want to look very good before I start coding it and making it a website. What I wanna know is what you guys think of it. Please give me any suggestions you have on making the layout look better and tell me what you do not like etc.. and I like harsh critiquing just as long as it is constructive. I hate IE 6

alright, so your saying as long as i validate my code it should work well in IE6?EDIT:I validated my xhtml and my css and of course it still doesnt work in IE6 lol. So nowi can safely say its good validated coding that IE6 just doesnt like. I really wanna make this work in IE6 since so many ppl still use it. anybody know how I can do it. if not i guess i could just us a JS browser checker -.- but i really dont want to.I also edited my first post to show the validated coding instead.
