I was under the impression that you needed some special code ( besdies <link rel=stylesheet href="somefile.css" type="text/css">) to put into your html using external CSS for the directing the behavior of the background arttibute. I figured it out and got it to work. I feel a bit stupid because it was so intuitively simple. BTW, I like your quote!
