  1. That was it. I had to change the position of the sublevels to bring them up a bit because I made the menu height shorter.
  2. I'm just working locally so I can't give a link, but yes, when I hover over the first level it pops the second level drop-down, but if I move the cursor towards the second level the menu disappears as soon as I move away from the first level... get it?I think it has something to do with the spacing in between the first level and second level drop-down. I'm not sure how to fix that though.
  3. The code validates fine, but the dropdowns disappear as soon as you hover off the 1st level button. I stripped near everything else out of it now. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en"><head><meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8" /><title> CCGC</title><style type="text/css">#info {background:#f8f8f8; border:0;}/* ================================================================ This copyright notice
  4. Then again, the pulldowns aren't behaving.
  5. Actually, I think I may have worked it out. Please review the code and let me know if you see errors. It displays correctly in IE and Firefox on my end. I have just saved the cssplay page and removed most of the info, but some still remains... I have modified other bits and pieces just playing around to see if I could modify it, but much of it from the original is intact.<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en"><head><meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible
  6. I shrank the height and width, but each link then had space between them and the additional first level link ended up on the line below (I guess due to the overall menu width)... And the pulldowns go away when I try to hover the second level links in them... most of the time anyway.
  7. Can anyone give me some pointers on editing the CSSplay drop-down menu? I want to resize it to have six first level menus, which will require shrinking pretty much everything. I made an attempt to start resizing the boxes and such, but it just doesn't look or function correctly. Having a difficult time here...
  8. I re-structured the code some so the footer will move as more content is added. I changed the header background. Is the blue to dark for the black logo? I know it looks different on different monitors. I might try a royal blue or another shade that isn't as dark. Not sure as black on blue may not look so good no matter the shade of blue.I'm considering changing the menu as suggested, however, the color and font does match the rest of the site doesn't it?
  9. When I add more to the right sidebar it continues through the footer though. Something is awry in my code.
  10. OK I have updated to a new concept. Please have a look and tell me about it. I'm having a hard time understanding the float and clear properties. I want my content and right sidebar to stay in between the header and footer, but the way I have it right now isn't right. HELP!
  11. As I understand it the search engines generally don't use meta keywords so much anymore due to abuse by spammers and such. There are certain ways to write your content so you will get higher rank in the se's. For example, use keywords in your page title, within header tags, within the first paragraph of the actual content, and again in the last paragraph. Also use them in your image alt tags and in links, etc. Just don't overdo it as that could be overkill depending on the search engine. Make it all relevant and you will gain a higher rank. Just don't use spamming techniques like making the co
  12. Found a few examples of the type of business I'm involved in, except these are more "businessy" whereas I'm just independent. I like the first one and I had actually thought of doing something like this (dark blue with glowing white linework) prior to finding this page. Guess I'll do something different. I have an idea if I can pull it off with the help of the GIMP. Over the next week I shall work on it and I shall give an update when I've got it. http://cadspecialist.com/http://www.cadd-connection.com/http://www.vtcdesign.com/index.shtml
  13. Gotcha. I'm sort of at a stand-still right now. Not sure what direction to take with it as far as design/graphics go.What do you think of adding the beige or dark khaki to the menus as background color?Should I add a blog directly to the page or make it separate?Use photo's as graphics, develop my own graphics, or use a hybrid? This has always been one of my biggest problems every time I've tried to design a page: indecision.
  14. 57 views and no response? Is it really that bad?
