Yes, php seems the preferable method, though it requires a local server, which isn't a bad thing I suppose.

Thank you that is very helpful. When starting out, it's incredibly overwhelming but to conceptualise as you have is very useful. I have opted to save my files on to a local server using XAMPP and then to save each .html file as a .php. This seems to have to done the trip as I can now use the 'include' function.

Hi All, I've seen that in PHP you can include a require or include function which saves you from having to add the entire code for headers and footers for each page. Does a similar things exist in HTML? If so, please direct me. Thanks in advance Russell

Hi there I'm new to web development and I decided to start with w3.css as they had a template which has been very useful. I want to create a Portfolio Gallery which exhibits articles and their related images, however the dimensions of the images are causing problems i.e. the gallery doesn't not look like tiles as it were. Do I need to make all the images uniform in size somehow before inserting them? Thank you in advance.
