  1. I've been searching through Google to find a solution but I think the problem is, I can't explain this very well. So here goes...I have a "bumper sticker" section of my website that has a form-type submission box. In the submission box, a user can type a suggestive bumper sticker phrase.What I'm trying to accomplish is this: The user hits "submit" on the form, and immediately see's their text on a "bumper sticker" (most likely just a <div> tag with a background-color, height and width).I've seen this before on webpages, including w3schools. It's kinda similar to the way you can edit CSS on w3schools and immediately see your changes on the same page.I don't know if this is a difficult request or something where I can just find a script online. Either way, your recommendations will be very helpful.Thanks!
  2. Yes we still get roughly 15-20% of our traffic from IE6, so I need to optimize for it.
  3. Hi all,I have a jQuery content slider on my site here, and it looks good in all browsers except IE6. In IE6, there is a long horizontal line that extends at the top of the slider. I've tried playing with the CSS as best I could but I cannot get the line to disappear. Any thing jump out to anyone when looking at the code?Thanks for any help you can provide.
  4. I have a decision I'm trying to make and I was wondering if you would please share your expertise.I am looking to move sections of my website to subdomains. My website is www.hannanan.com, and I am looking to create blog.hannanan.com, audio.hannanan.com, partners.hannanan.com and media.hannanan.com. I'm trying to find a CMS that will allow me to host these multiple domains on one installation. My first guess is using Wordpress, but I want to try and find other systems. Do you have a suggestion for a CMS I can use that will let me accomplish this fairly easily?Thanks for your time and help, it's much appreciated.
  5. Thanks, the overflow:hidden solved the problem!
  6. My page here has vertical and horizontal scrollbars in IE6 only. IE7 is fine, as well as all modern browsers. Is there something in the CSS I can declare to fix this?
  7. Hi, I have a search bar on my website and I want to customize how the "GO" button looks. I want to have a tiny magnifying glass as the "GO" button, and I want it to float right inside of the search box. Very much like this: How can I accomplish this? Is it as easy as customizing the <input type="image"> field?
  8. On this page here, I had to write an in-line style on the header <div class="nav-background" style="margin-bottom:50px"> in order to move all of the content down below. If the margin-bttom was not declared, all of the content falls behind my nav menu. What is causing this to happen? Shouldn't the content just drop below the nav menu, instead of me having to declare a bottom margin? Thanks in advance, I've been trying to figure this out for a day but can't wrap my head around it.
  9. Right now, my form uses a JavaScript file to validate responses. I am trying to prevent a form from being submitted when JavaScript is turned off. Thus, I want to create some simple logic in ASP that tells the user to enter their name when "Your Name" is given as a value (Note: by default, I have "Your Name" set as the value). Here is what my form looks like:<script language="JavaScript" src="form_check.js" type="text/javascript"></script><form class="fpq" action="price_quote.asp" method="POST" id="quotesform1" name="quotesform1" onSubmit="return checkquotevalues();"><input name="ReferralCode" type="hidden"><input type="text" name="NumberOfEmployees" id="NumberOfEmployees" value="# of Employees" tabindex="1" onfocus="if(this.value == '# of Employees') {this.value = '';}" onblur="if (this.value == '') {this.value = '# of Employees';}" /><br /><select name="PayrollFrequency" tabindex="2" /> <option value='0'>Select one</option> <option value="W">Weekly</option> <option value="BW">Bi-Weekly</option> <option value="S">Semi-Monthly</option> <option value="M">Monthly</option> </select><br /><input type="text" name="YourName" id="YourName" value="Your Name" tabindex="3" onfocus="if(this.value == 'Your Name') {this.value = '';}" onblur="if (this.value == '') {this.value = 'Your Name';}" /><asp:RequiredFieldValidator id="valLastName" ControlToValidate="LastName" ErrorMessage="Please enter your name!" runat="server" /><br /><input type="text" name="Email" id="Email" value="Email" tabindex="4" onfocus="if(this.value == 'Email') {this.value = '';}" onblur="if (this.value == '') {this.value = 'Email';}" /><br /><input type="text" name="PhoneNumber" id="PhoneNumber" value="Phone" tabindex="5" maxlength="14" onfocus="if(this.value == 'Phone') {this.value = '';}" onblur="if (this.value == '') {this.value = 'Phone';}" /><input type="image" src="show-me.gif" alt="Show Me a Price Quote" id="Image1" name="submit2" tabindex="8" /><input type="hidden" name="ContactRegarding" value="Q"><input type="hidden" name="SaveData" value="True"><input type="hidden" name="ReferralCode" value="<% =fm_refcode%>"><input type="hidden" name="UserType" value="<% =Request.Cookies("sMsource")%>" /><input type="hidden" name="EmployeeType" value="<% =Request.Cookies("sMkeyword")%>" /></form>Can someone point me in the right direction of how to create this logic? Where would it go in the code? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
  10. Thanks, that worked, as now the rollover function works in all browsers. Thanks!
  11. I have a page set up here: http://wuzhannanan.com/backend/package/template.phpIf you look at this page in IE8, the top navigation menu works fine. The rollover effect works as it should. However, in any other browser this does not work. The rollover effect breaks. Can someone help me get this to look good in every browser? What do I need to add to the CSS? Thanks in advance for any help.
  12. You're so smart... that worked. Thank you.
  13. I am using CSS from the 960 grid system found here.Basically I am trying to put a solid, 1px gray border around the stage here. Below is the code I am using. For some reason, when I add the grid_3 and grid_9 classes to my code, the border breaks and is smushed at the top of the page. I can adjust the height of the border to 500px, for example, and the border will expand. But, every page won't have the same set height, so I don't want to give it a number. I tried height:auto, but that didn't work. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" ><head> <title>Untitled Page</title><style type="text/css">body {margin:0;padding:0}.container_12{margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;width:960px;}.grid_1,.grid_2,.grid_3,.grid_4,.grid_5,.grid_6,.grid_7,.grid_8,.grid_9,.grid_10,.grid_11,.grid_12,.grid_13,.grid_14,.grid_15,.grid_16{display:inline;float:left;margin-left:10px;margin-right:10px}.container_12 .grid_3{width:220px}.container_12 .grid_6{width:460px}.container_12 .grid_9{width:700px}.container_12 .grid_12{width:940px}.alpha{margin-left:0}.omega{margin-right:0}.container_12 .grid_1{width:60px}.container_12 .grid_2{width:140px}.container_12 .grid_4{width:300px;}.container_12 .grid_5{width:380px}.container_12 .grid_7{width:540px}.container_12 .grid_8{width:620px;}.container_12 .grid_10{width:780px}.container_12 .grid_11{width:860px}</style></head><body><div style="border:1px solid #cccccc;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;width:960px;height:auto"><div class="container_12"><div class="grid_3">Left side here</div><div class="grid_9">Right side here</div></div></div></body></html> Here is a screenshot I took of how the page is supposed to look, but only when I set the height to 500px: And here's how it looks now, when I set the height to auto: Anyone know how to get the first picture look without setting the height to a number? Thanks in advance.
  14. Like this?<span class="fontsize20"><strong>Technology</strong></span><ul style="margin:0;padding:0;margin-left:15px"><li style="margin:0;padding:0;margin-left:15px">Works on Windows®, Mac® and iPhone®</li></ul> I've tried that locally and it has no effect.
  15. Click here for the link in question, you'll have to navigate to the "Payroll Features" tab.On the left side of the list, the list items are indented about 20-25 pixels from the left. On the right side of the list, the list items are not indented. What I'm trying to accomplish is the effect of having the list item intended in relation to the headline. So for example, the first bullet point on the left side, "Real-time payroll preview that helps you avoid time-consuming (and costly) mistakes" is intended in relation to the "Payroll Product" headline. I'm trying to do the same thing on the right side. How can I accomplish this using CSS?Thanks in advance for any help!
  16. Hi, I would like to start off my saying I know little about JavaScript, usually enough to get me by. However I'm stuck with loading two JavaScript's on my page.Both of the scripts below work on their own. However when I call them both on the same page, only one of these work. Can someone possibly look at this code and lend some advice?Here are both of the scripts: <script type="text/javascript"> function tbox() { tb_show("Easy and Affordable Service", "/interstitial.asp?KeepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=400&width=600", ""); } window.onload = function() { window.setTimeout(tbox, 10000); } </script> and function tabberObj(_1){var _2;this.div=null;this.classMain="tabber";this.classMainLive="tabberlive";this.classTab="tabbertab";this.classTabDefault="tabbertabdefault";this.classNav="tabbernav";this.classTabHide="tabbertabhide";this.classNavActive="tabberactive";this.titleElements=["h2","h3","h4","h5","h6"];this.titleElementsStripHTML=true;this.removeTitle=true;this.addLinkId=false;this.linkIdFormat="<tabberid>nav<tabnumberone>";for(_2 in _1){this[_2]=_1[_2];}this.REclassMain=new RegExp("\\b"+this.classMain+"\\b","gi");this.REclassMainLive=new RegExp("\\b"+this.classMainLive+"\\b","gi");this.REclassTab=new RegExp("\\b"+this.classTab+"\\b","gi");this.REclassTabDefault=new RegExp("\\b"+this.classTabDefault+"\\b","gi");this.REclassTabHide=new RegExp("\\b"+this.classTabHide+"\\b","gi");this.tabs=new Array();if(this.div){this.init(this.div);this.div=null;}};tabberObj.prototype.init=function(e){var _3,i,i2,t,_4=0,_5,_6,_7,_8,_9;if(!document.getElementsByTagName){return false;}if(e.id){this.id=e.id;}this.tabs.length=0;_3=e.childNodes;for(i=0;i<_3.length;i++){if(_3[i].className&&_3[i].className.match(this.REclassTab)){t=new Object();t.div=_3[i];this.tabs[this.tabs.length]=t;if(_3[i].className.match(this.REclassTabDefault)){_4=this.tabs.length-1;}}}_5=document.createElement("ul");_5.className=this.classNav;for(i=0;i<this.tabs.length;i++){t=this.tabs[i];t.headingText=t.div.title;if(this.removeTitle){t.div.title="";}if(!t.headingText){for(i2=0;i2<this.titleElements.length;i2++){_9=t.div.getElementsByTagName(this.titleElements[i2])[0];if(_9){t.headingText=_9.innerHTML;if(this.titleElementsStripHTML){t.headingText.replace(/<br>/gi," ");t.headingText=t.headingText.replace(/<[^>]+>/g,"");}break;}}}if(!t.headingText){t.headingText=i+1;}_6=document.createElement("li");t.li=_6;_7=document.createElement("a");_7.appendChild(document.createTextNode(t.headingText));_7.href="java script:void(null);";_7.title=t.headingText;_7.onclick=this.navClick;_7.tabber=this;_7.tabberIndex=i;if(this.addLinkId&&this.linkIdFormat){_8=this.linkIdFormat;_8=_8.replace(/<tabberid>/gi,this.id);_8=_8.replace(/<tabnumberzero>/gi,i);_8=_8.replace(/<tabnumberone>/gi,i+1);_8=_8.replace(/<tabtitle>/gi,t.headingText.replace(/[^a-zA-Z0-9\-]/gi,""));_7.id=_8;}_6.appendChild(_7);_5.appendChild(_6);}e.insertBefore(_5,e.firstChild);e.className=e.className.replace(this.REclassMain,this.classMainLive);this.tabShow(_4);if(typeof this.onLoad=="function"){this.onLoad({tabber:this});}return this;};tabberObj.prototype.navClick=function(_a){var _b,a,_c,_d,_e;a=this;if(!a.tabber){return false;}_c=a.tabber;_d=a.tabberIndex;a.blur();if(typeof _c.onClick=="function"){_e={"tabber":_c,"index":_d,"event":_a};if(!_a){_e.event=window.event;}_b=_c.onClick(_e);if(_b===false){return false;}}_c.tabShow(_d);return false;};tabberObj.prototype.tabHideAll=function(){var i;for(i=0;i<this.tabs.length;i++){this.tabHide(i);}};tabberObj.prototype.tabHide=function(_f){var div;if(!this.tabs[_f]){return false;}div=this.tabs[_f].div;if(!div.className.match(this.REclassTabHide)){div.className+=" "+this.classTabHide;}this.navClearActive(_f);return this;};tabberObj.prototype.tabShow=function(_10){var div;if(!this.tabs[_10]){return false;}this.tabHideAll();div=this.tabs[_10].div;div.className=div.className.replace(this.REclassTabHide,"");this.navSetActive(_10);if(typeof this.onTabDisplay=="function"){this.onTabDisplay({"tabber":this,"index":_10});}return this;};tabberObj.prototype.navSetActive=function(_11){this.tabs[_11].li.className=this.classNavActive;return this;};tabberObj.prototype.navClearActive=function(_12){this.tabs[_12].li.className="";return this;};function tabberAutomatic(_13){var _14,_15,i;if(!_13){_13={};}_14=new tabberObj(_13);_15=document.getElementsByTagName("div");for(i=0;i<_15.length;i++){if(_15[i].className&&_15[i].className.match(_14.REclassMain)){_13.div=_15[i];_15[i].tabber=new tabberObj(_13);}}return this;};function tabberAutomaticOnLoad(_16){var _17;if(!_16){_16={};}_17=window.onload;if(typeof window.onload!="function"){window.onload=function(){tabberAutomatic(_16);};}else{window.onload=function(){_17();tabberAutomatic(_16);};}};if(typeof tabberOptions=="undefined"){tabberAutomaticOnLoad();}else{if(!tabberOptions["manualStartup"]){tabberAutomaticOnLoad(tabberOptions);}} Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!
  17. Excellent. I knew it was easy. Thank you!
  18. I've tried adding this div tag around the image: <div style="float:left;padding-left:359px;"> And it adds 359 pixels of white space to the left of my image, with text still floating underneath.I would guess that I could add padding-bottom:500px or some large number to add white space underneath the image, but I'd rather not do this since I'd have to change the number each time I add more text.
  19. Hi, I have a quick ? that I've never been able to figure out regarding floating images and CSS. I have multiple paragraphs of text on a page, and I would like to have an image float to the left. However, I would like the text to not flow underneath the image, instead looking much like two columns in a table. How can I create this effect in CSS without using a <table>? Here's an image of what my page looks like now:Now I'd like to have white space underneath the image, and have the text only appear to the right. Maybe I shouldn't even use the float property. Any suggestions?Thanks in advance!
  20. So would it be something like this?<script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function tbox() { tb_show("1-Click", "/product/1-click.asp?KeepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=600&width=800", ""); }); window.setTimeout(ready(function tbox), 10000); </script>
  21. I have a javascript function that I would like to delay 10-20 seconds after the page loads. I've been looking around for a solution and I thought I found one, but it's not working correctly. Here is my code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function tbox() { tb_show("1-Click", "/product/1-click.asp?KeepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=600&width=800", ""); }); window.setTimeout(tbox, 100); </script> I'm a novice with javascript at best. Is there something that I'm missing from this code? From everything I've found I thought this would work, but I must be missing something.Thanks in advance for any help.
  22. Great, that code works perfectly. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for your patience and help!
  23. Here's what I have:<form name="form1"> <select id="mydropdown" name="select1" size="1" OnChange="location.href=form1.mydropdown.options[selectedIndex].value"> <option selected="selected">Select Your State</option> <option value="alabama-payroll.asp">Alabama</option> <option value="alaska-payroll.asp">Alaska</option> <option value="arizona-payroll.asp">Arizona</option> <option value="arkansas-payroll.asp">Arkansas</option></select></form>
