  1. tried a few examples of CSSP, and they were quite useful. But as you said (However, as I just explained, any style rule that can be set in CSS can be accessed and changed using JavaScript), what difference do we get in the two cases (CSSP and JSSS)? because both use Javascript to manipulate a given CSS?
  2. Hi all, this may sound weird but I hv no other option but ask in such a manner, I have been asked to collect some material on the web relating to the topic "LAYERS OF NETSCAPE". but I hv no idea what are "Netscape Layers". the amount of information that I collected from the www is not conclusive enough and does not give a proper explanation of the topic. I really need some help, so plz help me with some relevant web articles....N While Netscape layers are a feature of Netscape 4.0 browsers, and will not be made part of the standard, they allow for interesting effects and creative dynamic HTML
  3. Is the one above about using CSS positioning like absolute, relative, fixed etc, OR is it about using javascript to manipulate using the style property? What does this do then? Are both of them the same thing since JavaScript is used in both the cases? please give me an example of both the cases.I got this script that uses JavaScript. Is it an example of CSSP or JSSS?<html><head><title>Dynamic Styles</title><script language="JavaScript">function doChanges(e) { e.style.color = "green"; e.style.fontSize = "20px";}</script></head><body><h3 onmou

    error checking

    The login script worked well and was directing a user to the index page. But suddenly something went wrong and the error message ‘Notice: Undefined variable: _session in C:\wamp\www\Site\login.php on line 13’ appeared. Actually when the login was OK, I was trying to display a welcome message to the user on the index page. But everything went wrong and I am not even able to login. Plz help….

    error checking

    Hi there, I used $_SESSION["valid_user"] in place of session_register. But after ‘logging in’ the user is not directed to the index page. I think the below function that is in another page is returning 0. This is the function. function check_valid_user() { // see if somebody is logged in and notify them if not global $valid_user; if(isset($_SESSION['$valid_user'])) return 1; return 0; }

    Thanks, the registration script is working now and a user is directed to the login.php page. But now when I try logging in, I get this error message: Deprecated: Function session_register() is deprecated in C:\wamp\www\Site\login.php on line 13This is login.php<?phpsession_start();if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == 'POST') { require("posting_fns.php"); if(!filled_out($_POST)) $error['form'] = '<center><font color="red">You have not filled the form completely</font></center>'; if($_POST['username'] && $_POST['password']) // they have just tried logging in

The fields are "uid, username, password and email". uid is the primary key of type integer, username and password are varchar. the problem is that after registering a user all the user details get into the MySq table except the 'password' field. which remains blank in the MySql table. why is it so? plz help.

    error checking

    thanks, it worked, the errors showed. But there is a problem. If there are no input errors, the very first record gets inserted OK. But on subsequent submissions of errorless inputs only the first input is displayed, whereas it should have displayed all the records. The subsequent inputs don’t get inserted in the database table also. Why is it so?

    error checking

    i am using this script, but when i click submit, the errors are not detected even when i leave a field empty, and that empty field gets inserted into Mysql table as a blank record. error checking

    hi everyone, i am using this form to submit the posts made by users. I have not included any error checking here, like if the user leaves a field blank and submits the form. What i want now is that the form should generate error messages whenever the user leaves a field blank and SUBMITS the form, and the error should be displayed right next to the blank text box. I dont want to use javascript, instead i want to do the error checking in PHP as well. thanks to all.........
  23. I recently tried my hand at creating a blog at blogger, but i guess one dose not get the flexibility to create the layout of ones choice there because of many limtations. On the other hand i feel creating an independent site gives one the liberty of experimenting with lot of issues apart from layout, design etc. Is it true?
