  1. Hi Yahweh i tried setting the CHMOD of those to drwx------ (700) however im getting:

500 'SITE CHMOD 700 database': command not understood
, so im guessing my host does not allow it.Im sure the IIS thing is for Wondows Pro so i cant do that and set the file permissions.therefore i have to contact my host what do i say to them?
  2. i have notice when reading help guides that its something to do with file permissions but i only have windows xp home therefore im unsure as to what to do.

  3. For this job I have changed roles...In this case i have been asked to find a suitable hosting provider and upload it for them. Im using 1 and 1 hosting they seem ok...For some reason im getting this error message when i try to access the database. Im unsure as to why im getting it simply because the database is not read only. I'd be great full if someone could shed some light on this situation.

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e09'Cannot update. Database or object is read-only./admin/sessions_inc.asp, line 49

  4. This is kind of in rely to the following thread http://w3schools.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=11255I am guessing I kind of got ripped off for the sites I did then...This was my first site I did for "work experience" but it was for quite an important person. It was for a University Lecturer at Kings College, London, UK. All content was provided.http://www.aquatic-management.org/Paid: £50 + Expenses £20 = £70 ($138.80)This next site is for an established CCTV business. The sites on a temporary URL hence the add I have to put at the bottom of the page.http://www.dview.co.nr/Paid: £250 ($495.70)I suppose if you look at it as a learning curve then i cant really charge for that, however im sure other companies would have paid more....What you think?

  5. @justsomeguy: you talking about KB905474? for some reason that update stopped half way through and crashed my pc. My XP is legit lol i have the docs to prove it...The only reason why i can see i have encountered this problem is becuase i recently upgraded my aol to the latest AOL 9.0 VR (Vista Ready)would this have anything to do with it?however when i look at this http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost....62&SiteID=1 i can see people are having the same problem with no way to fix it

  6. What the problem is here is that every dvd i try to play on my pc, i recieve the following message. No matter if its a dvd from the shops or one i have burnt my self i keep recieving the error. I know alot of people who are having this problem so i know its nothing to do with my hardware.errz0.jpgI have tried to reinstall previous versions of windows media player but it has proved to be unsuccessful. I have tried there help topics and doing upgrades they suggest but still no luck. Even changed my resolution settings but im sure you can guess the outcome.Any ideas?

  7. Hello team,Couldn't see a place to put this so forgive me if its in the wrong place. It all started when i went to do a small calculation. By click the calculator programme icon, i encountered the following error message.error1qf6.jpgNow im not too good with this technical side but im sure its something to do with the registry and if i mess it i up i could be ... for life. So is there anyway i can sort this problem? Many thanksB

  8. Well done mate.Im trying to find mistakes in the site but i really cant. I can see you have put alot of time and effort into it.Minor problem which im sure you could fix is outlined below:errorhs8.pngIts on AOL, but uses IE 7

  9. I think the testimonials now look "cleaner" without the horizontal rule.I prefer the quote wider as you suggested, not too sure why i did it so long, fits in more nicely.Ive added as much padding/margin as possible before it starts to go mad and off the page, i think it does make quite a difference. And dont worry about that little advert, its only there to keep .co.nr happy. once it goes over to its .com it will be gone! also about the breadcrumb effect, i suppose it will only work on the products page?. Is there any point for example putting it on the about page where it would be Home> About?. this is because there are no other links on it.thanks again

  10. Hi there Chris, Firstly i would like to say that i am overwhelmed with the indepth analysis you did of the site and im very impressed. I dont think anyone has taken that much time to review a site and im very greatful.I think i have covered all your points which i believe make a difference to the site. The changes are only to one page so far: http://dview.co.nr/index2.htmlAll the forms use the same style, which in my opinion i dont know why i didnt have them that way in the first place.I'd love to hear your opinions on the latest updatescheers againB

  11. updated: www.dview.co.nr@ Vacuus i've had a look at the current page bar and changed its thickness and it seems better thin actually thanks for the suggestion.@andersman i suppose if the people are happy with the site and they think it works ill leave it

  12. everytime i load the site i see something is missing and it really doesnt stand out, its something that must be really minor but would make a ###### of a difference.it must be that ive been workin on the site for so long that i may of got bored of the apperance?

  13. A minor spelling change... on the right side, customers comments, it says"It's better that having only an alarm. Thank you! Mr Thomas, Enfield."It's better than having only an alarm. Thank you! Mr Thomas, Enfield."THAN"
aha caught you there just checking your looking at the site :) (ok maybe i wasnt) thanks for that.in terms of layout/design doesnt seem like much problem
  14. It looks fine, but is this like a company or something? Because if it is, you shouldn't use a free domain...you should host with a "real" domain name like .com or something. And by the way; it's not valid XHTML :)
The domain is not a problem it they already have registered the domain name but there not happy to hand it over until the site is perfect. So yea its a temporary one definately would not think of using a free domain, that kinda says alot for your buisness. And yea it should be valid now, i add things i shouldnt have :) cheers for looking
  15. www.dview.co.nrHi people,I've been doing this site for a while now and would love to hear some feedback. The person seems happy with it (they would do if you saw there site 1st time round all i will say is desktop publisher for a website :) ) For me theres something this site is missing, needs a little lift in my opinion and i cant seem to find it anywhere. Also i think they mentioned the logo is changing however it will still have the greeny header with the 3 images on the right. ThanksBen
  16. Thanks :)Just wondering, I know there was a post about this somewhere on this board. Do you know how to make the address bar icon?
http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon/I think this site has to be excellent, simply design your fav icon 16 X 16 is best if you do it in this resolution or you can do it any size and it redues it for you (i'd say not recommended though disorts picture) http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon/then press ubmit and you have a fav icon in minutes, no need to mess around with software etc. Then you can use there fav icon validator (flashey i know) http://www.html-kit.com/favicon/validator/ to test stuff
