  1. What if I wanted all links to always go to page2, but only represent the number in plain html text?
  2. I was wondering, I want to make a set of links on my page, which basically hold a value (number in this case), which I want to if clicked to be presented on the second page which the links are all directed to.so far I have the following <?php for ($i=0; $i<3; $i++) echo "<a href='page2.php' name='link'>Clickable Link</a>" . "<br />"; ?> this makes the links for me, but I really have no clue how I would go about attaching a number that I want to display on the second page goes.
  3. I used Notapad for around the first year, then shifted to notepad for about 2 years, then I came in contact with Dreamweaver and started using this tool.Ingolme is actually very correct, specially with Dreamweaver (from when I last used it) it renders things a bit different. But about for 3 or 4 months now I started using Aptana Studios, I just simply LOVE this tool, it's not as heavy as Dreamweaver, does a couple of things a bit more logical than Dreamweaver and has easy options to open browsers, it also gives you previews of your HTML and CSS in both FF and IE, still the 2 most common used browsers.
  4. Not sure what you mean by that.
  5. Thats true, however necessary for the older IE browsers, I haven't done any research weather IE9 has remove this and allows Opacity.
  6. I wasn't quite sure weather to put this under CSS or Javascript, so replace it if you must. What I am trying to do is change certain style's of an image when someone hovers over the image, I did get to work that the image shifts from opacity, but not I am trying to add a size to it, but I can't get it to function acordingly. <img src="images/trob.png" width="150px" height="150px" name="trob" class="fade" alt="trob" onmouseover="trob.style.opacity=1; trob.filters.alpha.opacity=100; trob.style.width='300px'; trob.style.height='300px';" onmouseout="this.style.opacity=0.3; this.filters.alpha.opacity=30; trob.style.width='150px'; trob.style.height='150px';" /> Did I forget something here or? cause I can't get it to work somehow.

    Akward Whitespace

Well I did state them to be on 0 at the start off my stylesheet, they are working proper now with the divs as containers.
  8. Evening,Not sure what I am doing wrong here in particulair, but I thought this should work. <script language="JavaScript"> <!-- Start news = new Image(); news.src = 'imageWeb/newsOn.png'; //End --> </script><a href="news.html" onmouseover="news.src=imageWeb/newsOn.png;" onmouseout="news.src=imageWeb/newsOut.png;"><img src="imageWeb/newsOut.png" alt="news" width="172px" height="45px" name="news" /></a> Or am I missing something here, cause they different images are not being displayed.

    Akward Whitespace

Isn't overflow simply used for a scrollbar? I tried applying it, however it doesn't work, and from what I can see, I am not using any margin to the paragraphs or headers, just padding, but those apply to the left and right.I guess ill go with the regular DIV use and use them as a background image.

    Akward Whitespace

Excuse me for the somewhat poor explanation, it's sittuated in the news blocks, they are like 2 or 3 pixels in height, basically between the two black images stripes that have a beveled corner.

    Akward Whitespace

Good evening,I have this akward whitespace issue @ http://hemlock.dhportal.net/oldskool/news.html , which I cannot seem to solve, I have tried numberous fail attempts on setting all padding and margin to 0 of the consearning classes and ID's.the whitespace is sittuated under and above the images that are supposed to connect to the content that lies between them.Any ideas?Regards
  12. Your opperating system should not be the involving factor for you issue. However, your margin to you HR (or second image) is pressent, the reason why you don't see it, is caused by the fact that your image is floating, so the margin of your HR starts counting from the top of the image (or respectively the last tag used before the image). The thing that you'd need to apply is then a bigger margin to your HR (keep in mind that this will effectively work against other objects that hang above it as well, but I guess you shouldn't.You could use a pseudo class after your image, to make a fake image registration of your image, however, I am not really sure how to approach that, should be some articles around the net.

    Css Dropdown

    Hello Reader,Currently I am trying to create a form of a dropdown menu, however with a little spin to it. <ul> <li><a href="#">Subjects</a> <ul> <li>year1</li> <ul id="subject"> <li>subject1</li> <li>subject2</li> <li>subject3</li> <li>subject4</li> <li>subject5</li> </ul> <li>year2</li> <ul id="subject"> <li>subject1</li> <li>subject2</li> <li>subject3</li> <li>subject4</li> <li>subject5</li> </ul> <li>year3</li> <ul id="subject"> <li>subject1</li> <li>subject2</li> <li>subject3</li> <li>subject4</li> <li>subject5</li> </ul> <li>year4</li> <ul id="subject"> <li>subject1</li> <li>subject2</li> <li>subject3</li> <li>subject4</li> <li>subject5</li> </ul> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="#">Blog</a></li> <li><a href="#">Other</a></li> </ul> ul { margin: 0; padding: 0; list-style: none; } ul li { position: relative; left: 0px; float: left;}li ul { position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; display: none; padding-top: 26px; } ul li ul li { width: 100px;} ul#subject { margin-top: 15px; float: left;} li:hover ul { display: block; } What I am trying to establish is; to make sure that the years are next to one another, and the subjects under each year falls under that vertically, but I can't seem to get it strait, and at this point I really don't have a clue as to how to approach this.Regards
  14. Thank you for the answers people
  15. Might be a tad a bit of a silly question, but I couldn't find it anywhere on google, but what is the selector to add attributes to all basic selectors, such as table, div, etc.regards
  16. Would there be an alternative option to style multiple td's within an TR (not all but a couple) say for example the first 3 TD's in the code below other then assigning a class to each TD. <tr> <td>data</td> <td>data</td> <td>data</td> <td>data</td> <td>data</td> <td>data</td> <td>data</td> </tr> Cheers in advance
  17. it looks like font-style interferes with font-weight, not sure if thats true but...When I try to add a font-style normal to my span class and also declare a font-weight as bolder or say 900, it doesn't display the letter in that span class as bolder or 900, it just shows it as a normal bold to me, could be me but has anyone noticed that?regards
  18. Hello there folks,Currently I am trying to create a simple table design so I can put collums next to one another in the simplest way, but I am not sure how to approach this matter. What it would look like simplified is as the followingI know how to do them in tables, but I am not sure what CSScode to write for it in order to have it look like that.Currently my CSS and HTML looks like this .table { position: relative; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 1000px;}.row1 { position: relative; top; 0px; left: 0px; width: 250px;}.row2 { position: relative; top; 0px; left: 250px; width: 250px;}.row3 { position: relative; top; 0px; left: 500px; width: 250px;} <div class="table">table of content <br /> <div class="row1"> Header <br /> Filling1 <br /> Filling2<br /> <div class="row2"> Header <br /> Filling1 <br /> Filling2<br /> <div class="row3"> Header <br /> Filling1 <br /> Filling2<br /> </div> </div> </div> </div> Regards
  19. Thanks for taking your time to read this,I have a rather annoying issue that is related to IE (other browsers such as Google chrome, FF and Safari all don't have this issue). If you display this webpage in FF, google or Safari, it turns out rather ok.But in IE, one of my CSS chunks is being missplaced and the submenu's (when you hover over an image button) do no appear (guess they displayed behind the content) and I tried a couple of things, but I can't seem to solve these 2, and eventho, I dislike Ie, I still know allot of people still use it nowadays, so it has to be at least compatible and look almost similair.Any thoughts?Cheers in Advance
  20. Hello fellow reader,I have a small question, I am trying to make a small feature to my website, that if you click the image, it will enlarge.I am not really a blast in Javascript, I know the plain basics that are most often used in combination. So basically, I made a new Class in CSS called img.large, which has a absolute value, and some width and height values, nothing too fancy, currently, my images reside in another CSS but is there a way, to let this image basically pop up in front of the image, enlarged on click, and what would be the best way to approach this?Regards
  21. As far as I know, there is no such property described in the Font or Text values. You can try using a div with 0px margin and padding, to wrap that around the text, and simply change it's background color.
  22. Use Javascript to pre-load your button images, it's very weird to see a button disappear when you hover over it the first time you take a look at the website, I can image that people with a slower connection, can get quite riddle by that. All in all your design is nice, right color use, it's a simple design but works.Other than those points you might to do a something with your regular links, it's clear that it's a link by the color change, but you might want to do something with the color when you hover over it.

Yes remove it please, it's a burden for the eye, and you might want to find a designer for your website, I know scripting is allot of fun, and making cool functions, but your siite has to appeal to people. Here is a list of a couple things you want to improve.- Don't overdo HTML borders, they are frankly quite ugly and have a very low eye-appeal.- Your forum does not match with the rest of the website at all.- Your menu navigation is rather blunt, try something innovative.- on the page "Linkler" and the page "Ekip" your content is placed very differently, try using a stylesheet, to get a bit more off an Chronological order, so each page sorta has the same content build up, makes it allot easier for people to browse through it.- Try to avoid using default images that can be downloaded from the web. (secondly you try to blend that picture in the with background, which is very confusing to say the least)- You use a very Strong RED and BLUE color on your website, these colors clash allot, try using a white font if you want to make a blue portfolio.I hope these critiques all fall in good order, cause they are just there to get you better with it.If you want more tips, or are looking for designers feel free to contact me at warnicro@gmail.com.
  24. I like the functionality of allowing one to close or open content, just make it a bit more obvious by using a triangle instead of cross, and let the triangle upwards when you want close the content and make it face down when you want to open a chunk of content.
  25. You have to keep in mind that IE needs allot more direction than Firefox globaly does, so keep in mind that you might want to define height, width, top, left properties. As far as your question, it's rather bluntly put, don't really see what your problem is exactly at this moment.Edit: also keep in that working with tables is great, but basically everything you are creating with the <table> function can be made with CSS's Divs, you just have to position a couple of things a bit more from time to time.
