  1. YEEEHAW! So far, except for a couple of minor (hopefully) glitches, the page is working.1 ... text for pictures is wrapped in a backward 'L' Shape at right side of pictures with part of the text along side of picture and part like the bottom of the letter 'L' extending right to left under them.2 the word Home is at bottom left corner of screen in "Pictures" and there is a </htm in white below that. Like so:Home</htm
  2. A dumb question: by way you seperated it, am I correct in thinking that each page has to have seperate folder -- or do I combine each of the "box's" into 1 big file titled index.html?If I have to use seperate folders per page, then <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><head><title>Frequencies - The Payne Place</title><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /><link href="http://gpayne2.Home.mindspring.com/style.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet"/><meta name="generator" content="NoteTab Light 4.95"/><meta name="keywords" content="Payne, Fresno, Music, Jazz, Radio, Scanners, Scanning, cylinders, 78RPM, 78s, Voltron, Weather"/></head><body bgcolor="#00aaFF" text="#ffffff" link="#000fff" vlink="#008800" alink="ffcc00"><div align="center"><font face="Arial, Times New Roman, Helvetica, Courier New, Sans Serif" color="#ff0000" size="+7">THEPAYNE PLACE</font></div>is used on each???
  3. ================Ok thanks for the info on the names & links. I have no clue on how pages are seperated so each link will work.I would presume I don't need to ftp that index2.bak file over to site?
  4. I tried both links you put up. Site comes up ok, BUT 404 errors on everything that a link leads to where I have something.using MY WEBPAGE\indexb.html If I type URL of my page into IE, & hit enter, get 404 error.----------Will delete the original program you put up, then cut & paste the new one over to NoteTab and see what occurs.I reuploaded the indexb.html file, and the pictures folder.the ftp screen that shows where you've uploaded to shows:Folder <...>pictures folderindexb.bakindexb.html-----Screen Resolution is: 1280x1024, with 32-bit Color, 75 Hz. refreshI may be pushing the Video card a bit hard, being its about 5 years old & 32 Mb RAM.
  5. Cut & pasted the source over to NoteTab, and can see it ok in review section of program, but all I got after ftp to web is an 404 error. ftp program gives choice of: Binary, ASCII, or Automatic (Don't know what Automatic is -- a combo of Binary & ASCII perhaps??)Original file was /index.html so I saved the new version as /indexb.html.Also when looking at it in review mode, the pictures didn't load and the text for them still is misaligned. Any ideas & help appreciated.
  6. calvin182 ..... thanks for the cleanup! I knew there were problems -- serious ones -- but being I didn't start looking at HTML and stuff associated with it till a week or so ago, I expeccted trouble . As to program(s), I got freeware because majority of stuff available is currently beyond my means financially, being on limited budget. Ok "dont use the program again" what freeware editor would be suitable then? Not sure at all whats out there. --- CZZ --- ==========================================
  7. By Source Code I am assuming you mean all I've typed in, so here we go. 8. Trying to set up my first webpage (am using 4.01 Transitional), so far have 4 sections to it, but I can't get the 'Home' command to work. Except for the 'Home' link on bottom of page, none of the others work -- all I get are 404 errors when I try. Also having problem with getting text to align over only 2 pictures (so far) on site. The site is loading as 1 large page. When running a validator, it says I am trying to mix XHTML and HTML together. Some of the things it says are that I can't use: # in front of a color, A HREF, <CENTER> , < or > or something in <> isn't allowed.Being that this is my first post here, I don't know if posting URL of my site's allowed, so will wait and see if a moderator, or one of the Board members says if its ok or not.
