  2. besides the technical knowledge of designing and the coding, what program to use and these stuff ..As for a program I'd recommend Microsoft Expression Web4, as it has the ability to help you without fully automating the process!you should get a theoretical understanding , here this is my post that explains a lot about the web designing... http://w3schools.inv...showtopic=42236

  6. if you guys do not mind me saying this, but he has to calm down and understand that all of us do not have anything personal against him (neither language, country, age or anything that might come to his mind)eduard you should know that this forum is has the most helpful members there could ever be on this internet universe, but some of your arguments might be a bit umm.. weird for them as they have had past experiences. Your questions may be clear to you but cause frustration among them.. That's all the case.. and thanks everyone for helping him (i say it in his place). and thanks eduard for the question
  7. but i still need to know more about the universal pricing criteria, could you guys explain more.. probably any of you could tell us about a free lancing project he has worked on associated with details about ( how much he got paid, how long did it take, the complexity, what was asked of em", how he arranged and negotiated, etc.)
  8. Listen man, they have told you.. it depends on how many hours you are going to work on the website for your client..For example if you will work an overall of 36 hours the calculation could for example be 36hr x 20$ = 720$ ..(of course I'm just estimating that, I'm not sure about the real pricing nowadays but that's the criteria).
  9. Looking for an opportunity to learn more! any professional help?

  10. hey my friend, i have added you as a friend if you don't mind that :D .. looking forward to chat with you soon

  13. well, you sound like some professor that I have previously met, he's a human development professor and he has always mentioned the requirements and needs of anyone applying for a job from a personal point of view.. like those you've just mentioned, but when it comes to skills of working, that's taken to another level because the expertise is a difficultly reached goal.. it come with practice, advice, reading, watching, listening, practising and even FAILING sometimes..but what we're implying is, if you need that website just to view the information you have about yourself, then let someone create it for you for the mean time.. until you learn everything you need my friend
  14. Greetings,Hey everyone, I've had a query about how to create a form text box with some value inside that gets automatically cleared as the user clicks on it to edit it, more like this example on www.bodybuilding.com they have a sign in form at the right hand-side next to the flash slide show.. Sorry if my question is not that professional but I can't seem to know how from their source code.. Thanks for your time and effort..
  15. From my point of view, if you need a website for C.V , why don't you ask some higher experienced designer and somehow developer to design it for you.I bet there exit many people who would love to help you without a charge of money, with that simple layout and simple functionality you have there.what do you think scientist?
  16. So if I'm trying to be a free lancer one day, would you recommend me to validate all the websites I create for my clients?
  17. Guys, I hope you don't mind my question, but what's the necessity level of validation a website that I've created or even published?I mean how will it differ anyway, as far as I know the most famous worldwide websites are not really that much of "validated".E.g. Facebook, or any as famous website.
  18. Dear members, moderators and administrators,I thought of sharing this item of information with you on W3schools forum, may some members find them useful. Most of us the members concentrate on the technical part of the implementation and sometimes ask how do we know the "Usability, Quality, Measurement Criteria, Effectiveness and Interactivity" of our website projects.I haven't made this information myself; I have just studied during some previous year in university within a course (module) of Human Computer Interaction, thus thought of sharing them with you. Brief Introduction:-A main goal for an interactive system designer,"E.g. Website of any type or content" is to achieve the highest accessibility and usability on different scales for achieving the targeted success whether the website is for E- commerce within an E-business, gaming or even social networking; thus acceptability and user-engagement should be put into consideration. All these aspects are viewed by the three main essential categories that are known as TOP LEVEL PRINCIPLES:- Learn-ability Effectiveness Accommodation There also exist the key issues that those categories sought to fulfil: - Usability: - resembles the quality of interaction (A.K.A Quality of Service QoS), in terms of context elements such as time efficiency to perform tasks, number of errors expected and handling them. Acceptability: - resembles the level the system serves its regarded purpose in context of use and interaction (Note: - could be cultural wise). Engagement: - resembles and concerns designing to the utmost peak of success, (looks and feel wise), in addition most smooth experience. Access: - as simple as defining it as an ice-breaking key issue, concerns with the removal or elimination of all the expected barriers between the system and the user "E.g. cultural borders, social borders, and economic borders" ;thus THINK OF DESIGNING FOR THE UNIVERSE! THE TARGET IS UNIVERSAL DESIGN!! so DESIGN FOR ALL..Context: - First: - Learn-ability Visibility: - simply described as making the system's functionality visible, more like don't hide or immerse functional links or buttons within spots that confuse the users or make them ask where they are. Consistency: - means that the website's look and feel is not very much of a variable over different pages, “E.g. don't make the home page have this pinky colour while the other pages are darker and less radiant”. Familiarity: - Includes the usage of familiar language on the lists, menus, buttons and links “E.g. use register or sign up for more formal websites, yet you can use join us now for less formal websites; so it is subjective in an objective way or more like a mixture of both”. Affordance: - making sure that the design has the suitable Affordance for the users, by using familiar symbols and icons, “E.g. the check mark for okay or is more often used than thumbs up”. Second: - Effectiveness Navigation: - providing support to enable the users to move around the system conveniently by different methods, through maps, menu bars, search bars, links and etc. Control: - making the user in charge and control of the system, having all the “permitted” actions and interactions available for them to successfully interact with the system and experience the system's collaboration. Feedback: - the rapid feedback to the user from the system, so that they feel the system's environment and get an idea of how their actions have affected the system , “E.g. a thanking message to inform the user that registration has been done successfully”. Recovery: - the recovery of expected errors, more likely refreshing the page or sending the user back to the home page, or even refreshing the form, “E.g. the errors that rarely occur on Facebook that automatically refreshes the page”. Constraints: - the denial of some actions or entries by the user from the system, “E.g. invalid entries in the registration form, or even preventing spams from the users”. Third: - Accommodation Flexibility: - the allowance of multiple ways of performing any process within the system, either through navigation or any other aspect ,“E.g. allowing users to go to home page by either clicking on home or the website's logo”. Style: - the style, attractiveness or the user's satisfaction by the website's look and feel. Conviviality: - the system has to be polite, friendly and generally welcoming to all users regardless of race, beliefs, religions, nationalities or gender.
  19. Well, as far as I know and understand, CSS is not used for these purposes..It's a styling sheet language that you use and ID or a CLASS to format or add attributes to a given tag field..So, I can't seem to understand what is it exactly that you want to do with listing all siblings and what role do you want the CSS to play..Thanks
  20. I've not been working with database involvement yet, but that issue could be a FAQ .. so I'm thanking both of you for it honestly
  21. wow, thanks for the correction, Afterall; I think that Microsoft's IE regardless of how many disasters and trouble I've been seeing from it..It'll rise again, as lately I've seen them updating it very often and with the new IE look and feel of windows 8.. I think microsoft is never going to give it up
  22. I agree with both of you adding that of course I wouldn't ask for something very primitive or for those who are very much of beginners, but I have created some website that had some functions from all sides of XHTML, CSS and Javascripts.. I can always send them compressed to any professional who'd be my mentor and tell me what to do next to learn in the best ways possible..But the problems is, no one is that free to coach me through.. so I try implementing something new every now and then or fixing something that I don't think it has been good enough that I have previously done..
  23. I'll soon give you a feedback as I am going to create a topic on the main general page that will include some information that might be very handy for you my friend
  24. you're 100% right, I'm not just asking, I've also been working and reading stuff, have been through X HTML , CSS and JavaScripts till now..But the thing is, I don't know much about how to reach a designing skill or technique to create a website that looks like any international website for example :- www.bodybuilding.com for e-commerce, www.nexon.net for gaming or even w3schools forum for forums.. I feel like being in need of directions what to learn first and what's next and so on
  25. Well, that seems quite professional and may also be beyond most of our knowledge.. I just felt confused as I've seen that ..But would you mind if you point us forward.. more like where to start how to know that we've reached the level of expertise of step 1, then give us step two and how do we reach the level of expertise of it.. And so on.. that will be very or too too helpful man.. we'd probably follow everything if you just lead us righteously and maybe after pointing us forward put some website examples for us and tell us to challenge ourselves creating that design and look..What do you think?
