Can anyone recommend a title of a good/excellent PHP 5+ book? I noticed that W3Schools only have them on HTML/CSS and JS/Ajax.
  2. 1. When will HTML5 be out?2. Can we use it with XHTML?3. Can we make our own "Controls" for the video tag? And how so?4. Why isn't there an SHTML tutorial?5. When will CSS3 have better support?
  3. Looking at this post and going back through the CSS tutorial on the links chapter, I can see where I went wrong with this one. Thanks.
  4. Yes, but why do they over ride normal links not in the navigation menu?Am I going to have to use more IDs or Classes to fix this?

    XML or JSON?

I just wanna know which one you use, or if you use both.I know XML can be used with PHP for a tiny DBMS, but can JSON do the same thing?
  6. I am in the process of making a test website, and I noticed that my custom menu was affected by regular CSS.Menu CSS #navigation{font-family:Arial;font-weight:bold;}#navigation li{list-style:none;list-style-type:none;/* Doing this to make sure the links look the same in all browsers */}#navigation a:link, a:hover, a:visited, a:active;{background-color:#c0c0c0;color:#FF0000;display:inline;margin:0;padding:0;border-bottom: 1px solid red;} Yet I notice that this CSS affects it somehow. a:link, a:hover, a:visited, a:active{font-family:"Times New Roman";font-weight:bold;text-transform:capitalize
  7. For now I would just use HTML to make a basic player. As far as Java goes, you can check out NetBeans IDE and check out Sun's official tutorials.NetBeans IDE 7.0And as far as tutorials go, I found this: Java Beginner.comGoodluck dude, Java is what I want to eventually program in.
  8. Actually using the object tags might not work. Do you have more than one flash player installed too? IE RealPlayer, Apple's quicktime, etc. Or are you using the one from Adobe? Personally I would make your sites music player using either PHP and HTML with JS/Ajax functions or with Java and PHP. That way it would be a universal music player, and would work on any operating system or most web browsers.
  9. I'm sure there are people who are more than willing to pay refsnes data to create an SQLite tutorial. It's released under a public domain and some people might prefer using a lighter database manager instead. Also, maybe make a tutorial about using XML files with SQLite?
  10. They could be using Java to make it work. Its what Symbian uses. Aside from RealPlayer. Why not use the object tags and some PHP to create your sites music player?Or maybe make it using Java?
  11. Yes, it's all been worked out.I'm learning as I go.
  12. Maybe lower the text of the header so it will fit in the image? And why not use em instead? em/16px=em So why not change it to19.3125em?
  13. Actually they are supported. I believe they have a different type of IPB license, or a sub-license.Invision Power Servies (IPS) does self-hosted communities for a monthly fee, how ever you still get to choose what software version you use.Personally I prefer the 2.x series to the 3.x series. :)I am sorry for bumping this topic, just felt it was important for others to know.
  14. Thanks for the tip. :)I'm dunno...It's not supported in a lot of browsers...There are some things that are supported, but if CSS3 isn't fully supported, well...I might just use JS for it instead.
  15. I thought it was CSS1, but it would make sense that W3Schools teaches CSS2.And I can't get the styling to work because of the div.container for some reason, I just wanted to center my site using something other than a table. I guess I have a lot to learn still. And are you talking about the div that begins in the <head> tag and ends before the </body> tag? I guess I could nest it properly, but then i'd have to find a way to make that certain gap white instead of pink.I think I get it now....The ONLY thing that goes in the header should be doctypes, meta tags, styles, js, and the tit
