  1. Whoa, they really are some pretty cool picture there that you have got links to, I told my Physics teacher about that animation thing that started this topic off and he was really interested so I said that I would send him a link to it!

  2. Blimby, this topic has appeared so many times before, and I have only been with this forum since June! Anyway, I have a favicon.ico made but I really don't know how to use it, can someone give step by step instrctions please?I have checked up on the website and it just doesn't seem to have any info on it and also, is it possible to add it to your style sheet to avoid adding it to every page?

  3. No problem, glad to have helped you, I wasn't sure wether I had just confused the matter altogether or not, because I started to get confused myself! Anyway thats not the poi9nt, it is working now :)

  4. Adding a personal photo is disallowed alltogether.
Ok thankyou, it was something that I tried to do once and it said that it was disallowed and so I was just wondering wether you needed to have a certain ammount of posts.
  5. Yeh perhaps, in fact, thinking about it I don't really wan't people to have access to a picture of me! Lol, I really don't know why I even asked now, thinking about it! :)

  6. In England they send you to school at the age of four, then you go through reception for a year or less depending on your birthday you then have years 1,2,3 and 4 at first school, 5,6,7 and 8 at middle school and 9,10 and 11 at high school. Your can then stay on to 6th form till year 13 or go to colege. You then go to univercity. But year 12 onwards is completely opptional. So to round it off, generally you are four or five years older than the year at school that you are in.

I see, :) edward, I can imagine staying on a computer for 15 hours +, I am usually on it 8-10 hours a day =\. I am on it a tad too much..
Yes same here, I go on my computer at 4ish in the afternoon every day till 11ish or more, then at weekends I am on my computer from about 9ish to 11 in the evening. i really must start to get a life instead of sitting in front of a computer.I also have 3 hours of ICT lessons each week at school and I am on the computers at school at break and lunchtimes, it is surprising that I dont have migranes from excessive use of a computer!
  7. Sorry, to have confused you, I think it is much better when people are actually talking in a topic, because it keeps a nice flow going, it can get really boring otherwise because I often sit refreeshing the page every 10 mins to check for new posts! I know, I am so sad but I can't help it, I just love my computer and the internet, I can't live without it. When I moved house I didn't have my computer for about a week and it was sooooo bad that when I got it back I stayed on it for like 15 hours or more. :)

  8. Blimby, I didn't realise you were online, and so i wasn't expecting to recieve such a quick responce, also I may aswell ask now, you know how when you get to 500 posts you can change the text under your avatar, can you also add a personal photo?

  9. Wow. I really do have to say that your signature is great, I just couldn't resist it myself, and even though I know where it takes me I still keep clicking on it to see, well I don't no what really, I soppose to see if the link has changed at all! :)

  10. Thanks. Yeah, I guess I could use something to the effect of this:<!--BEGIN PRIVACY CONTENT-->blah, blah, blah...<!--END PRIVACY CONTENT-->I was just wondering if there was a way to devote specific text from an outside file. I don't actually have anyone that needs this yet, I'm just getting into web design and I thought that it would be very handy in terms of "ease of use" down the road for potential clients.Thank you so much for answering my question though. I suppose that comments will have to do...
No problem, glad I could help :)
  11. This isn't really an answer to your question, but if you are trying to teach someone then perhaps you could add comments into the HTML code like this:<!-- Hello -->You could then have these where ever you needed them for the person who you are trying to teach?

  12. Thank you so much it did kind of work, I used this code:

    <style>td { vertical-align: top;}</style>

The actual page has now been removed from the internet as it is no longer needed.

  13. I think that tables are fine, I have always been taught to use table for making websites, right from making my first website in year 6 in ICT on Frontpage! And all the way through to HTML and I am in year 11 now!!!. I don't see as there are any problems with the, but if you wan't to make smother edges and make it not so blocky, you can use gradients that are fading from the colour of one cell to transparent. Just then make your table with more cells.

  14. This is the code that I used when I was playing around with background music, but like SFB said, it really is best not to have background music, because people probably listen to music if they want to and seriously if I come accross a page and the music clashs with mine I get rid of it strainght away, it is really just a way to deter people, but that is your choice, who I am telling you what your website should have on it, it is a free world... so here is the code:

    <bgsound src="my music.mid" loop="infinate">

There you go, as simple as that, I am not sure wether it is only for midis or not, but give it a go and play around with the loop bit, I can't remember the other properties. As I say I was just messing around with it when I was learning how to build websites in HTML.Enjoy!!! :)

  15. Yes, it depends on your content, but once you have the main setup you just need to make your different pages and you keep the same frame setup, so you could have 5 frames, frames 1 - 4 being standard on each page and the 5th frames being for your content which would change when you clicked your links. So for example a page with a top bar, left and right side bars a main body and a contact bar at the bottom would need 6 pages, but after that you would only need to make lots of different main content pages, if you get what I mean, because the top bar, left and right side bars and the contact bar would alway be there.

  16. You need to put the information you want into the page that you are linking to, so make a page for the middle, on for the left, and the right etc. Then make a page with your frames on that accesses them.

  17. Title: How to create pages for the Web using HTMLPrice: £6.99Where to buy: Rapid ElectronicsPublisher: Babani Computer BooksISBN: 0-85934-404-5Author: J. 18. Yes, tables are the only thing that I know how to use and I really don't have much time to learn other code. :) I really can't understand why it wont work, because my own page uses the exact same layout and it works fine!!!
