  2. Looking for some JavaScript that can tell if a file or website is available.For example: if (URL exists) { document.write(<div> + "Content Box" + </div>) }else { document.write(<div> + "Unavailable" + </div>) } A real time example would be something like say an embed code from a website and having an alternate setup for when the website was down.

    Just wondering where i can find something that will create a XML file of all the files in a folder.For example: If I have 200 images in a folder. 6. Apple devices are not programed to support the use of Flash.Documentation - http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/Edit: If you don't want to read the whole thing. The answer is in the Conclusion paragraph.
  7. Another question has appeared.How do i get multiples of these XML scripts on one page without them breaking each other.For example:CD NavigatorandXML to HTMLboth on one page working.Edit: They seem to be working fine on separate parts of the page, but it just seems wrong.
  8. Found It!w3schools.com - Cd NavigaterI feel really dumb not seeing this before.Edit: What i learned: I didn't know you could do "if" statements without "Else" and everything about this post!
  9. I could try to do something like this. But i don't know how to do the "var AddStuff = (blah,blah,blah,blah)"Javascripti=-1 function updateAddI(){i+1var AddStuff { document.write("<tr><td>"); document.write(x[i].getElementsByTagName("ARTIST")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue); document.write("</td><td>"); document.write(x[i].getElementsByTagName("TITLE")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue); document.write("</td></tr>"); }document.getElementById("feedbox").firstChild.nodeValue = AddStuff;} HTML <body><div id="addtI"><input button updateAddI()><
  10. Thanks for the information. I don't know how i missed that.Anyway, upon reading that i have created the following code.This code only draws one at a time depending on what i equals and if i=0 then its the top, if i=1 its the next, and so on. This is perfect and is exactly what I'm going for. <script type="text/javascript"><script type="text/javascript">if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); }else {// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); }xmlhttp.open("GET","cd_catalog.xml",false)
  11. JavaScript from w3schools.com <html><body><script type="text/javascript">if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); }else {// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); }xmlhttp.open("GET","cd_catalog.xml",false);xmlhttp.send();xmlDoc=xmlhttp.responseXML; document.write("<table border='1'>");var x=xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("CD");for (i=0;i<x.length;i++) { document.write("<tr><td>"); document.write(x[i].getElementsByTagName("ARTIST")[0].childNodes[0].nodeVal
  12. Does Light Box support a way to use embedded objects, like YouTube or Flash?Edit: For Example: Replace the IMG with the Object.
  13. Very Awesome! Thank you all for the help once again.
  14. Wow that seems to easy.Its not like an iFrame where the width and height have to be predetermined?That's the reason why i don't use iFrames.
  15. Its HTML that looks something like this. <div id="Box"> <div id="boxtop"> <div id="Title"> Title <div id="date"> Date </div> </div> <div id="textbody"> Text blah blah blah Text blah blah blah Text blah blah blah Text blah blah blah </div> </div> <div id="boxmid"> <div id="Title"> Title <div id="date"> Date </div> </div> <div id="textbody"> Text blah blah blah Text blah blah blah Text blah blah blah Text blah blah blah </div>
  16. On the website I'm working on, i have a news feed. That news feed is on different pages with different looks (Different CSS styles). How do i get the news feed to store in a file and be loaded into every page desired. So that way, when i make a change to one, i don't have to copy paste over them all.
  17. This "security" is only meant to keep out the certain people (who know absolutely NOTHING about website programing). The point of any login is to filter what segments are seen.I intend to keep out things that i don't want smarter individuals to see.This is meant to be purely academic and a place holder until i find and/or get the money for a much better solution, which you have provided. I will be researching that host to double check there "too good to be true" factor.So far ism leaning towards http://byethost.com. It just seems to good to be true.Edit: A lot of reviews are steering me to not
  18. I am limited by money, so no money to spend on hosting right now.My free host i have now, allows me full access to everything but scripts(except javascript). No adds, plenty of space, and ftp.If you have a good idea of a web server that has at least 5g of space (maybe more), No adds, ftp access, and script use. Please lead me in that direction. Other wise, I'm not worried about complete security until paying for my server. That will be when my websites construction is complete. At that point i will need to start implementing PHP. This will not happen for sometime. It could be at least a year b
  19. Please before you start reading this, Please note: I know this isn't secure, I'm not worried about that.The idea here is that i want to create login code using only JavaScript. Its the only choice i have. Plus, i have been learning quite a bit doing this project.If you haven't seen this before please read this to bring you up too speed.Forum Post - Advance JavaScript Login (http://w3schools.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=38019)After you have read that, this code below is setup to execute before loading the body of the page.Top half (no editing required) <head><script language="
  20. Thank You so much! You have been very helpful! I do believe i am happy with this setup. I'll be back if i have any more questions.
  21. So what do i use to tell java script to be done. I was using that because i thought it was a simple way to tell java script to be done. I'm not sure if i want to use hours or not. I do want it to last at least 2 days until it expires. So in a sense, would i simply change the 365 to 2?Oh and every time you visit a page does it refresh the expire time or will it simply continue until amount of days is met? If its every time, then 2 days is perfect. But, if it continues then i would think something like 4 or 7 days.
  22. function checkCookie(){var wrong="http://www.google.com"; var incoinga="passa"; var incoingb="passb"; var incoingc="passc";var name=getCookie("name");if (name == incoinga || name == incoingb || name == incoingc) { confirm }else { name = prompt("Password please.","pass"); if (name == incoinga || name == incoingb || name == incoingc) { setCookie("name",name,365); } else { location.href=wrong } }} As far as i can see the only part of the cookie code i need to change is the 'checkCookie' function, right? And will this work? And whats the proper way to continue to load t
  23. So i guess java script cant do session and it is out of the question. I REALLY wish i could use PHP, but i cant. I guess I'm to use cookies I'm reading this page now. Attempting to merge my code with this one. Trying to learn how this works. Its really difficult with a completely miniscule knowledge of java script.
  24. I know it sounds weird that this is my only choice, but seeing as the service provider (free) will not allow any scripts at all, except java script.If you guys have an idea of what i can use that's more secure but isn't a script I'm all ears .I am planing on switching to a service provider that will allow me to use all the scripts i want, but for now I'm sticking with this one. (money problems right now) Yeah that's why i am planing on spreading the java script around several pages. For one variable; 52538cjcsj.js -> 87d232d.js -> 835hdyst.js, then the next, then the next, etc etc.I thin
  25. I have been searching for a good java only login code but cant seem to find one.I don't want one of those login and redirect to a page. That to me is just to easy to get around.I know that this isn't the most secure, but is my only choice at the moment.I'm looking for something that runs at the load of every page that checks the Session, a cookie, or anything else (that works that way), if you have logged in and it was authorized. Then if not, it would then open a 'Prompt' which would ask for a name and password. If failed, it would route the person to a different webpage. I haven't found anyt
