  1. Hi..In another post, I described a problem I was having with a javascript menu not displaying properly in IE and Firefox on my home computer. I checked the website from work, and it works fine. So, I compared security settings, and they are exactly the same. Even after turning off my Norton security, it still doesn't work at home.Googling has left me frustrated. Can anyone direct me to a decent IE website/forum that might help me figure out what other settings may be affecting the javascript?I'm a book author and the website is my book site. If I can't figure out how to get my own website to work on my own computer, I have no hope of helping potential readers if they encounter the same problem!FYI, the website is www.markdelfranco.com. The page in question is www.markdelfranco.com/glossarytext.html. Right now, there's a minor layout issue, but if you do not see an old fashioned style book page onloading, you have the same problem I do. (note: as a newbie, I made the mistake of designing completely for highest resolution, so you may need to adjust. I'm fixing it, I'm fixing it)Many thanks in advance....Mark
  2. Hi Dan,I've tried turning off my Norton too, but that wasn't it. I'm using both IE and FF. If you're getting it correctly, maybe I just have to see it on another computer to confirm something's up with my laptop. If you can recommend a simpler slidout menu, please do! Eventually this menu will have many more definitions. This script is currently way over my head, so finding a problem with it will be self-defeating.Anyone else willing to check out the site to confirm it's working for them will be much appreciated!Mark
  3. Can you confirm that when you first go to the page, the Title Page is loaded (Chambers Convergent Ethnology), and you're getting the flyouts? If so, that's great if everyone else is seeing it correctly. I've tested on a friend's laptop and get the same problem on his that I get on mine. Maybe we both have some kind of javascript blocker I haven't found yet (He's got a new Dell and I've got his old one).
  4. Hi,Very new to javascript.I have a javascript flyout menu that works brilliantly off my hard drive in both IE and FF. Clicking on submenu items swaps whatever is in a separate div with the menu item. When I upload it to my site, the script doesn't work. The submenu displays in full---not as a flyout from the main menu. The initial display layer that should appear (where menu items will pop up onclick) doesn't show either. Here's the page: www.markdelfranco.com/glossarytext.htmlWhere do I begin to look for problem? Is it likely the javascript or the css? You can access the sourcecode on the site.I doublechecked both my IE and FF browers to make sure they are javascript enabled, and they are.thanks in advance....Mark
