  5. well- i have not been using IE for literally years now. we use to have macintosh's at home, which is pretty much safe. the most i've used IE was actually at college- in the school's computer labs, and that was still limited cause i had an apple ibook. now that i have a home-based windows pc- i've been using firefox- for over 2 years now.yes, i know u can hide IE to eliminate access to it. but boen is right- it will still force itself open with certain programs. like right now i have it disabled, but when i am coding and wanna test my sites, macromedia forces it open for me- and thats actually the 'only' times i use it (which is only recently too).well, i guess getting hacked in a gameroom is not a big deal. but that account was my 'main', maaiin, maaaaiiinn mail.anyway- Ruud Hermans, thanx for the link u posted. i downloaded it at once and checked. and................... shocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.............. the result i got is loooooooong- yup! really! i dont even know where to start.ps. the internet was suppose to be a blessing to mankind, but it's proving to be more of a curse! why do we enjoy making evil of good? hhhmmmmmmmm......
  6. hmmmm.... i doubt that. only 2 of us really use this pc. i'm suspicious tho of a mail i might have opened. only 2 mails i opened that night. i never even saw the content of the last one i opened which is from a very trusted friend- who dont know much about computers in that way.hmmm... i really don't know what happened... i don't know.... i don't.... i.....EMAILS ARE FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AND THERE ARE LITERALLY MILLIONS OF POSSIBLE EMAIL ADDRESS NAMES U CAN COME UP WITH!!!!!!!!WHY HACK SOMEONE'S OWN????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!my my my--> I really thought i was over this! it's almost as though someone died for me!
  7. Nice stuff... Very important too...I had my email (yahoo account) hacked by someone in late June of this year. I don't practice to open spams- infact, most go straight to my junk mail. I don't even open forwards from my friends. I really don't know what happened there- but I know when it happened I was actually checking my mail, got a re-login problem, tried to sign back in and... u know the rest. i know it was hacked because i've seen the person signed into yahoo mesenger with my own eyes. the only thing i can think about is that they are into internet porn and wanted the address. well- the address does not go along with my personality really, but then i was young. (it was hotttlove@yahoo.com) had that account for about 10 yrs- was infact my main mailing address. up to last week someone asked my why i dont answer her when i'm online...and YES- it still hurts... thats probably why i am going on and on about it!all kinda things bothers me with that. among them is that my name and info is still on the profile- so any bad thing being done with that accout- it all comes back to me! i think i'll cut here now, cause.....
  8. lol. haha.... i know what u mean. i think i hate it more than u do tho.i'll probably give someone a lil' piece of the pie to type it all out for me- and save myself such precious time.
  9. when u build a website, do u automatically have the priviledge of putting ur name at the bottom of the website- as u r the one who did the work? OR do u have to ask/ discuss such with the client as to if ur name/ company can be placed there? (a paying client).---------------------------------------------(ps: i hope this was not asked b4. i have been trying to do searches in this forum, but for the past few days i've been getting errors while trying to search)--------------------------------------------thx for the response.
  10. ok. i see.well- was just wondering, but i did not think so...i have a little project to do. i realised that most of the stuff are on hard copy- so thats why i asked.thx.
  11. ok- get ya.thx.===========================ps. it's not that u have to find the content for the client. instead, its about if the content is given to u on paper and u have to type it "all" out (especially if it is plleeennntttyyy!!!!!) :)thanx
  12. ok- thxi just read through the entire thing- but it did not answer my question though.i am not asking how much web designers charge. all i want to know is if the client's information to be placed on the site is not typed out (in soft copy), if its the job of the web designer to do that. or should the designers job just be to do the actual coding and no more. or is there a separate charge for such.thx
  13. i was wondering--> how do u guys charge to design a website for a client? not for the design itself.ok- what i mean is this- when doing a website, is it your responsibilty to type out the content (information displayed)? or is that the responsibility of the client. if u have to do it- does it come with a separate charge? also, is your duty to proof read the content for mistakes such as grammatical errors?
  14. hahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!FUNNY!!!!uuuhhhhh...<sigh>snap out of it and get to work now!see ya! i gone to make me an ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, SITE!!!!!whew!... and some pretty, beautiful, splendid money!
  15. was just wondering how many people here build websites just for the fun of it- like as a hobby.... or is it along your professional path?right now i am teaching myself the stuff. i am thinking of doing it as a career though-> when i am comfortable and have more confidence in myself.what about u?
  16. thumbs up!uuuhhhhhhh... well, at least for now.lol. hahahaaaa.kidding.but don't smile as yet. just remember that no matter how great u are at any task- there will always be room for improvement.so, continue letting the thumbs go up!uupp!uuuppp!uuuupppp!uuuuuppppp!uuuuuupppppp!uuuuuuuppppppp!uuuuuuuupppppppp!uuuuuuuuuppppppppp!uuuuuuuuuupppppppppp!
  17. em em em... sweet question! lol.well... the first few computers we had at home were actually macs, which i really grew to love and appreciate. but then at college i 'had' to use windows- cause that's what the school had. only in my last 2 yrs they opened a new linux computer lab. (i was the only one on campus with a mac- iBook). so, i've spent some decent time on those 3.i think where programming is concerned, linux is the best choice. one of my brothers is into the professional graphics stuff- and allllll he uses from day one is mac.just my thoughts- perhaps most people get stucked into loving windows because it happens to be the most widely used pc... thus, for many, thats all they have ever used... so of course they would love it! lol.right now i have a windows pc, but if i had it my way- i would get a windows, linux and mac. i have the red hat thingie which i wanna install soon. however, if i had to narrow it down- i would choose the mac. the only thing i dont like about the mac though is the compatibility issues with so many great softwares. i guess many persons only think about windows when designing a software- sad.
  18. aahhhhhhhhh... i see! well infact, i think that i had gotton that IE only stylesheet code from u (in the first thread). so, i tried it (not understanding it obviously)--> did not see any difference... saw that it looked like it was commented out... did not wanna uncomment it 'cause it might mess up my codes- then somehow over time i actually forgot it there.hahahahaaaaaa.... ok, stop that... dont laugh at me. lol. so all i have to do is to create a SEPERATE style sheet and define it... and place it in the same folder with the other .css and .html files? when the codes are executed- IE (which ever version) will search for it and execute it along side with the main .css file? so- i guess i have to use the same pre-defined names in the IE .css stylesheet that i used in the main .css file right? em em em... ok, enough questions asked. i'll go look it up sometime soon. thx for the enlightment.i have not complete the photo gallery as yet tho. yesterday my time was soaked up in proof-reading a 55 page research paper for a friend. what great punishment! lol. i'm gonna go n' step on it right now.

  20. well... thank you AND thank you!!!i'm trying.i have made some changes already- some from the comments.i am now working on a css photo gallery.its giving me a run for my life- lol.hopefully i'll finish it b4 the week is out.will upload again after i am satisfied with the photo gallery.if u see any other stuff that can be improved- shoutback at me still- and i'll try to fix them before i upload."D"
  21. well, i never realised the hardship web developers had/ have in making their sites, etc. work as should in all browsers. how i wish this problem was none existence! it makes things sooo much more difficult! one browser shows things perfect- the other is a nightmare!i wish i could just wave a wand and this website would just turn perfect! lol. hmmm... ok, back to the topic- i hope i can get all this css coding DONE SOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!! i need to move on to other aspects of the site. (sigh)
  22. hmmmm....i actually saw that IE header problem, but i was trying to work it out on my own before i cried for help. if i am stuck in working it out- then i'll shout for help on it. how do u do a seperate stylesheet for IE though- how would the browser know which one to use?i also noted the tab problem (or another tab problem) in IE- there should be a lil' space between the tabs and the content background- but that does not show in IE. it joins on to it instead. what i really want for the tabs is for it to be a fixed length. right now it all differs depending on which browser u use.also- the left navigation is quite spaced out on IE- its much closer (how i want it) in Firefox and Opera. i tried using max/ min height- but it did not work- i think. The letters/ words shows up bigger in IE as well.uuhhhh... i really dont know (as yet) how to fix those IE problems to be quite honest with ya.that 'black border on the right of the top navigation and top right content'-- uhhh, the original idea was actually to blend in with the background color yeah. i dont know how i got off track.u said the stars are still jagged? hmmm... hmmm is all i can say. lol. i use fireworks to design my graphics. i have coreldraw installed- but it sticks the pc most times i try to use it. i have photoshop, but... but, but. i dont know if using one of them would make the difference.
  23. ok- i'm back,i was trying to redesign the site over the past couple days. well, i listened to all the comments about the images. i was in the process of trying to make them better- then in the midst of it all i decided to just change it altogether. and this is what i came up with! CLICK HERE for NEW DESIGN. Old Design latest version.uhhh... i dont know what u guys think- if this looks better or not. shout back and voice it all!!i'm in the process of making the other necessary changes. boen robot- i note ya: thanx.tonight i'll be working on the photo gallery- a css photo gallery. never did one before- so i hope its not all that big of a challege. u'll hear me scream if the weight is too much.
