Thanks for the reply Ryan. Any idea why the background isn't then displaying in the center?

I am having trouble centering some background images I am using on a new site. Currently it is displaying on the left hand side of the parent element and if I put display: inline-block it displays on the right. I remember using display: inline-block to get it to do this the last time I used transitions but i'm obviously not doing it right this time.
