  1. thank you SO much! that solved the problem perfectly
  2. HTML file: http://tdsdigitalwebsolutions.com/clients/ed/issue1-17.htmlCSS file: http://tdsdigitalwebsolutions.com/clients/ed/issue-style.cssHere's my problem... When the browser is re-sized the blue vertical line moves behind the sidebar menu. I did try moving the margin-left to the maincol as margin-right but this doesn't give me the same effect of the blue vertical line right down to the bottom of the text in the rightcol. What I would like to have happen is just the text in the rightcol to re-align when the browser is re-sized. How would I go about doing this without the blue vertical line going where I don't want it and yet still have it show up along side the rightcol text? Thanks for the help!
  3. you know I tried that, and a bunch of other ways and it wasn't working no matter what I put there... I just tried what you suggested one last time and it worked. Go figure! lol Thanks for the help
  4. I'm hoping someone can help me because I've been at this for the past couple hours trying to wrap my brain around this. Here's the html file: htp://tdsdigitalwebsolutions.com/edesigner/index.htmlHere's the css file: http://tdsdigitalwebsolutions.com/edesigner/style.cssI double checked everything was pointing to the correct files and place, and I even check the permission for the files and the folder they are found in. And yet they still won't show up. They show up ok on my computer, but when I upload them the images can't be found and the alt text shows instead. That's the only thing that changed. Ideas? Cuz I've exhausted mine and I'm now at a loss.
  5. Thanks so much for all your help... will check the site sample out Just to note.. I did try taking the absolute positioning out as per your suggestion before but it just messed up the layout.
  6. Thanks! Will give that a try.Edit: Tried it. Didn't work. Still getting the same result. I also tried floating the container that the content and menu are within, instead of just the content and menu, but that didn't work either. Should I not use a container for the purpose of this page? Or is there another way to layout the code so that it will work how I want the final product to look?
  7. After the last year of taking apart and learning from others code, I decided to take the plunge and write my own css. I can get a header and content to show as I want no problem, it's the footer that has me baffled I'm wanting the footer to show up below the menu and content, which I did get to work as you can see. But I can't figure out how to get the footer to move automatically when there is more text than there is menu. I'm also going to be expanding (placing more content in) the menu at times, so the footer needs to adjust to this also. Here are my files.. Style sheet & Index fileThanks for the help!(To Mods: these are direct links to these files. No ads, affiliate, or redirects)
