  1. I want to make a site that automatically redirects to subdomain m.mysite.com ?I mean, i want to make a site that has two versions, one for desktop (without subdomain m. ) and one for mobile phones (with subdomain m.)When the user goes to mysite.com using his mobile phone, he will be directed to m.mysite.com.. (like facebook) Can you tell me how to do that?
  2. I have put a few amazon banner links on my website, but I am noticing that they are not clickable when viewing on a smart phone. I am assuming this is because they are wrapped in an Iframe. Is there a way to make this work on mobile devices? I am thinking I could try wrapping the iframe in an <a> tag that points to the same page but with its own link. So the banner link will show like a picture, but it wont be the actual link. Would this work? And would it affect the banner link itself when clicked on in a normal browser. <iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=jonsonliport-20&o=1&p=12&l=ur1&category=software&banner=0BSSVHTA3XB4Y210FD82&f=ifr" width="100%" height="250" scrolling="no" border="0" marginwidth="0" style="border:none;" frameborder="0"></iframe>
  3. So I'm new here and have been trying to solve this problem for over a month and can not seem to figure out of its CSS or js related... Maybe it could be that I use page templates rather then directly imputing into the Wordpress page content area via the dashboard? The theme was a template and defiantly did not do this as the demo theme works just fine on mobile browsers. The problem is my short codes, nav, widgets overflow off the right side of the page ONLY in mobile browsers. The site works fine on all desktop scenarios..In the screen shot you'll notice that it seems as if the body does not span 100% and leaves a margin on the right (notice the white vertical space on the right)Has anyone run into this issue or have a clue to what the deal is?Im lost and very frustrated at this point..The site is:http://gadget-fix.comALL of the pages do this.
  4. Hi, I'm trying to get my webpage to use another CSS when you try to browse it with a mobile device. My problem is that none of the guides I can find really help me out. I've tried multiple, some easier than others. For example these two: http://www.seabreezecomputers.com/tips/mobile-css.htm and http://mobile.smashingmagazine.com/2010/11/03/how-to-build-a-mobile-website/ The problem is, that even though I do(at least I think I've done) what they tell me, my mobile device still reads from the original css. I thought that the problem was gonna be to get the mobile css to look good, but can't even get it to link.. Dreamweaver says both css's(5 in the other example) are linked to the html file, but mobile device refuses to read from the "media="handheld" " or "media= only screen(max-device-width:480px;)" Possible to get some help?
  5. Hi there, After many hours searching for the answer to what I thought was a relatively simple query, I am still no wiser. I hope an expert here will be able to help me with the following - How do you maintain the proportions of child div as its parent gets larger, when the parent is set to width:auto (to fill the browser)? For example say the parent is 1000px X 400px and its child is 200px X 100px; when the browser is resized and changes the parent to 500 x 200, what is the CSS code to ensure the child div changes size with it, proportionally, making it 100 px X 50px? This is because I have come across a JS plugin to scale the text to fit the div. Many thanks in advance, I look forward to reading the response. Matt
  6. I've been enthusiastically reading a lot of w3schools' tutorials and reference pages on HTML, which is a very big step in the right direction for HTML. Alright, so far so good. The <canvas> and <video> tags are amazing, and things like the technique used here is very exciting: http://www.w3schools...drawimage_video However, I've run into a bit of a show-stopper: the example above, and any similar ones I've been able to find, does not work on mobile devices - even ones that support both <video> and <canvas> by themselves. I haven't tried it on any iOS devices, but web searches indicate they would have the same issues. I've attached a screenshot of how the above example looks on an Asus TF300 tablet (Android 4.0.3). Am I the only one running into these issues, or has anyone else experienced similar problems? If so, were you able to solve it - and how? Regards, Mikkel

    Cookie Help

Hello. I'm new to the W3Schools Forums, and I'm relatively new to web developing. I have a question. My website, www.universallinks.co.za, went live not long ago. I'm in the process of developing a mobile version of the website, but I have a small problem. If a user on a mobile device goes to my website, I wish to present them with the opportunity to switch to the main website. It's easy enough to do so, except I don't know how to use cookies. Could anyone on the forum assist me in this matter? My website is primarily coded in HTML, so I hope I've posted in the right section. I did search the forum, but found nothing on 'cookies'. Thank you.
