  1. I have students creating sites that have multiple pages that link together through a nav bar and also have images with an external file source. When students send them to me obviously the images don't work because I don't have them saved in folders with their sites and also the links don't work to the other .htm pages for the same reason. My first thought was to have students send me all files so that they would all be in my downloads folder and in theory work. They work to an extent but images are distorted. My second solution was to use a zip file but that doesn't seem to work either. An
  2. Hi,I am developing my first website template. When I used this script in the internal script, it ran well. But when I added this script inside a file, the jsLint showed that there was almost 20 errors. Here I am sending the screen of the errors. Can you please help me to understand why these errors occurred and how can I resolve these? Here is the script: function openModalSearch() { 'use strict'; var modalSearch = document.getElementById("modal-search-container"); modalSearch.style.height = "100%"; } function closeMo
  3. I used some CSS code which worked internally on my website. When I went to convert the code to an external .css file but ran into some issues. I can use the internal version, but the external is more efficient and less restrictive. Here is the code for the internal HTML code with CSS: <!DOCTYPE html><html> <head> <style type="text/css"> html { background: url("resources/images/docTech25Banner.png") no-repeat center center fixed; -webkit-background-size: cover; -moz-background-si
  4. Hello internet - here is what I would like to do: I want to load an html file into a <div> element in my current html file.I have several buttons on my webpage where I would like to be able to click the button so that the <div> element that I placed in the middle of the page (which is sort of large 500px by 500px) will display a dynamic file where I would have more buttons and <a href> links and anything that html page would have coded in it. Where should I start? You help as always is appreciated!!!
  5. People always say that if you have JavaScript code which is used by multiple pages then it should be in an external page but if it is only used by a single page in should be internal. People also say that external JavaScript code can make the browsing slower since additional PHP requests are made but that when it is internal less bandwidth is used. Is it a good idea to put JavaScript code into PHP files and then include them like any other PHP files? I've been thinking about this because then I can minimise the HTTP requests and at the same time use the same JavaScript files in many PHP files.
  6. Hi, I am having problems with a script I am recycling from my client's old site. The issue was there before but wondering if there is a way to fix it. The page is here: http://www.tech-one-biomedical-services--inc.mybigcommerce.com/contact/ The email links don't work now that there is a class assigned to the table, enabling the backgrounds to be highlighted when the parts of the map are clicked on. They didn't work before either but I didn't realize it until the client pointed it out. I see when I hover in Firefox it looks like it should work, see the mailto: ref coming up, but when you click.
  7. Hello. Like I said in one of my other posts, the one about giving a table a margin on a style sheet; I am new to CSS really and I am making a little website for a school project. Last night I spent making some graphics for it and all, but my style sheet, as far as I know, is really unorganized, and I am really confused on how it's supposed to be organized. Most of the things I just put in it, and kept moving them around till it worked, but I am getting tired with that process, and it's really messy. Ill post my style sheet beneath, and if anybody could help me organized, that would be wonderfu
