  1. I read, with great interest, about using a button to show and hide text here. However, I have several blocks of text for which I would like a button to toggle show/hide but would prefer not to duplicate the same function several times. I would like to pass the div ID as a parameter so that multiple buttons may use the same function to show/hide the text associated with each button. I tried the following code but it does not work. <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"> <style> #myDIV { width: 100%; padding: 50px 0; text-align: center; background-color: lightblue; margin-top: 20px; } </style> </head> <body> <p>Click the "Try it" button to toggle between hiding and showing the DIV element:</p> <button onclick="myFunction('myDIV')">Try it</button> <div id="myDIV"> This is my DIV element. </div> <p><b>Note:</b> The element will not take up any space when the display property set to "none".</p> <script> function myFunction(myDiv) { var x = document.getElementById(myDIV); if (x.style.display === "none") { x.style.display = "block"; } else { x.style.display = "none"; } } </script> </body> </html>
  2. So I am working on a simple client database type program. I have a clients array that stores new clients that all have a first name, last name, phone number, etc... I also want the user to be able to add notes about their clients' family. So, one of the parameters of the client function is an array called familyNotes. Here is the code for this: function client(firstName, lastName, phoneNumber, address, hireDate, frequency, cost, entry, familyNotes) { this.firstName = firstName; this.lastName = lastName; this.phoneNumber = phoneNumber; this.address = address; this.hireDate = hireDate; this.frequency = frequency; this.cost = cost; this.entry = entry; this.familyNotes - familyNotes; } var laura = new client("laura", "simmerman", "1111111111", "laura rd", "01/01/01", "weekly", "100", "garage-1111"); var jana = new client("jana", "simmerman", "2222222222", "jana rd", "01/01/01", "weekly", "100", "garage-2222"); var clients = [laura, jana]; However, I do not know if the familyNotes array is working properly. I have a function that prompts the user to add a note about the family of a client, then adds the note to the array. Here is the code for this function: function addFamilyNotes(i) { var note = prompt("Add a note about the family: "); document.getElementById("familyNotes").innerHTML += "<li>" + note + "</li>"; clients[i].familyNotes.push(note); } I later have a function that is supposed to alert the length of the familyNotes array, however it doesn't alert anything currently. Here is the code: function familyNotesAlert(i) { alert(clients[i].familyNotes.length); } Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Why is the alert not showing, and is anything actually being added to the familyNotes array?
  3. Hello, I'm working in a website development with django and I need to send a parameter to a script. On my web, I send parameters through the URL on this way: I put the href in which {{obra.id}} is the object received from views.py href="/edicionobra/obra{{obra.id}}/"> At the url I take that object as parameter to go to one page or another, according its value, url(r'^edicionobra/obra(?P<id_obra>.*)/$','demo.apps.obras.views.EdicionObra', name='edicionobra'), However, I would like to take that parameter to use it in a script, but I don't know how to do it. Would anybody know how to solve this? Thank you very much!
  4. Hello. I'm having problem with data-transition in jQuery mobile If I use this code without having "id" parameter in the href : $('#allList').append('<li><a href="#DeadlineDetail" data-transition = "flow" >'+ allDeadline.class +'<br>'+ allDeadline.duedate+' '+ allDeadline.duetime+'<br>'+ allDeadline.description +'</a></li>'); The data-transition can work normally But if I add the "id" parameter to the href like this so there will have no data-transition animation $('#allList').append('<li><a href="?id='+allDeadline.id+'#DeadlineDetail" data-ajax = true data-transition = "flow" >'+ allDeadline.class +'<br>'+ allDeadline.duedate+' '+ allDeadline.duetime+'<br>'+ allDeadline.description +'</a></li>'); Do u have any solution for this ? Thanks alot
  5. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /><title>Untitled Document</title><script>var left;function setStyle(element,property){ if(window.getComputedStyle){ left = window.getComputedStyle(element,null).getPropertyValue(property); } else { left = element.currentStyle.property; }}function getStyle(){document.getElementById("show").innerHTML = left;}function init(){setStyle(document.getElementById("div"),"left");getStyle();}</script><style>#div {background-color: red;position: absolute;left: 100px;top: 100px;width: 100px;height: 200px;}</style></head><body onload="init()"><div id="div"></div><div id="show"></div></body></html> My problem is why this script doesn't work, when I want to pass the property "left"? function setStyle(element,property){ if(window.getComputedStyle){ left = window.getComputedStyle(element,null).property; } else { left = element.currentStyle.property; }} function getStyle(){document.getElementById("show").innerHTML = left;}function init(){setStyle(document.getElementById("div"),left);getStyle();}
