sircharlo
When I run my page through Tidy, it complains of my lacking the 'mandatory' Summary attribute to a table. However, it is not essential for valid XHTML.What gives ?
Guest FirefoxRocks
1. You have an old version of HTML Tidy for Firefox (if you are using that extension).2. You may have Tidy checking for web accessibility.3. The summary attribute is not required for valid XHTML, but it is a good idea to include it in a data table (a table not used for layout) for accessibility purposes. It should be close to the content in your <caption> tag (if you have one).

What the heck is a caption tag ?Well the <caption> element provides information to blind people using a screen reader. (this is also true for the summary attribute). However, <caption> is visible on your screen, it is displayed above your first table row centered. The summary attribute is only for bots and software to read it, it isn't displayed.
