johnt
I was wondering whether anyone had displayed text in a hover box which was fed from a database. I have a number of documents in a knowledge base which refer to a series of words. Rather than type the hover box description over and over again I would like it to be fed from a database. Is this possible?
zppblood
Yes. You will need some server-side language (PHP, ASP[.NET], Coldfusion, etc.) to connect to the database and select information from it.

Synook
Well, you could use AJAX, but the actual database querying will still have to be done server-side. Enabling such a thing client-side would blow a giant hole in your database security.
