Steve, Welcome to the w3schools forum.Use style="margin: 0 auto; text-align: center;" to adjust the position of the div which is sticking to the left in IE.And remove the duplicate Body tag. Then run the page through the w3c validator to see a couple of other small errors that need attention.

http://validator.w3.org/You can do the checking by file upload, or cut and paste, or supply a link.Post any errors you don't understand.
HiJust tried a couple of things have used the above Thank you, just stuck now on what to do I have 2 faults left Line 55 and line 329 can you tell me what I have to change or add to put them right Please.RegardsSteve.
   1. Warning Line 55, Column 0: unclosed start-tag requires SHORTTAG YES . <table ✉ The construct <foo<bar> is valid in HTML (it is an example of the rather obscure “Shorttags” feature) but its use is not recommended. In most cases, this is a typo that you will want to fix. If you really want to use shorttags, be aware that they are not well implemented by browsers. 2. Error Line 329, Column 8: there is no attribute "BORDER" . border="0" type="image"><img alt="" ✉ You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element. This error is often caused by incorrect use of the "Strict" document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the "Transitional" document type to get the "target" attribute), or by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "marginheight" (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead). This error may also result if the element itself is not supported in the document type you are using, as an undefined element will have no supported attributes; in this case, see the element-undefined error message for further information. How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute, (Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or check that they are both allowed in the chosen document type, and/or use CSS instead of this attribute. If you received this error when using the <embed> element to incorporate flash media in a Web page, see the FAQ item on valid flash.

Do you have a link to the page on the web? That would help us see the error and make better suggestions. If at all possible, that would be appreciated, since I assume that your code has changed from the above listing.Worst thing would be to re-post the code you are currently using. Thanks.

Hi Synook thanks for that I replaced the code to style="border:0px; " and this removed the Paypal button and when you add the delimiting > it then puts code onto the web page and widens the text ect.Best regardsSteve

You need to close the table tag using > in the fashion that you did with the div tag.

Hi Synook,This is the new Error Message.Regards Steve.
   1. Error Line 55, Column 0: ".." is not a member of a group specified for any attribute. ..<table> ✉ 2. Warning Line 55, Column 2: unclosed start-tag requires SHORTTAG YES. ..<table> ✉ The construct <foo<bar> is valid in HTML (it is an example of the rather obscure “Shorttags” feature) but its use is not recommended. Error Line 56, Column 1: character data is not allowed here. style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); width: 720px; height: 100%; text-a ✉ You have used character data somewhere it is not permitted to appear. Mistakes that can cause this error include: * putting text directly in the body of the document without wrapping it in a container element (such as a <p>aragraph</p>), or * forgetting to quote an attribute value (where characters such as "%" and "/" are common, but cannot appear without surrounding quotes), or * using XHTML-style self-closing tags (such as <meta ... />) in HTML 4.01 or earlier. To fix, remove the extra slash ('/') character. For more information about the reasons for this, see Empty elements in SGML, HTML, XML, and XHTML.

Well, you need a closing tag. If that breaks your layout then after fixing the tag you'll need to fix the layout. Or you could post a link to your page and we can take a look at it.
Hi www.oscarpublications.co.uk I will put the close tag in so you can see whats going on.It also makes a pigs ear on Int Ex + Firefox.RegardsSteve

I know what can you do,Firefox is Ok and Int Ex is at least central on the page with a few words out of place at the top by the book and the breakup of the background color.Steve.

If you take out that extra tag in the middle of the table tag (the part I underlined) it should work, one of the browsers sees that as ending the table tag and then it doesn't pick up the rest of the style information or table attributes.

Removed <p> as per your instruction.I have put in some <br> and removed about 10 or so of this code   and now all the wording is in line on Int Ex and Firefox. If you validate you will see code <table style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); width: 720px; height: 100%;tRegardsSteve.
