shadowayex
I think there should be an actionscript tutorial, considering there's a Flash tutorial. I haven't seen one on the site, unless it's disguised as something else. I'm not sure if it can be done or not, but it'd be nice to have one. A lot of tutuorials I find are worded so technically and I honestly retain almost nothing. I'm wanting to build a game in Flash but... well... it's hard to when I have no idea what I'm doing or what the tutorials are telling me to do. Shonumi
Personally, as one who is developing a major game based on ActionScript 2.0, I'll have to contend against you in the otherwise. While it's true to some extent, that which I've heard briefly about, that Adobe's Flex makes learning ActionScript a little more open, accessible, and practical, I still think Flash and the ActionScript language are just too proprietary. I've also got a few knocks against the language design itself (key input is abysmal). Besides, Flash (and Silverlight for that matter) as a venue for web based graphics should perish and be replaced with something infinetly more awesome, like SVG. Also, W3Schools seems often rather than not to be centralized around technologies that are open internet standards (or working drafts) or other things that are either free or easily accessible to most everyone, something Flash and ActionScript is not. A great deal of what's offered on the site requires nothing more expensive than Notepad or an equivalent piece of software. Just my two cents as well, I find the Flash tutorial a bit misplaced in W3Schools. I've read it, and it seems an oddball amongst everything else.Though if you're lost and don't know where to go, one of the best places to actually find some info is Flash's in-program Help menu. Yes, strange as it may seem, the Help menu is actually helpful. It's got loads of example and even sponsors you with some code and descriptions as to what it does. For everything else, try these sites.http://www.actionscript.org/http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/action_...cript_tutorial/http://www.kirupa.com/developer/flash/index.htm
